  1. The 16610 rehaut looks a bit wokky but hard to tell with such bad pics. On the plus side, the SEL fitment looks pretty good. If these are friends of yours, why are the pics such bad quality? They obviously took them and posted them somewhere. It looks like you just grabbed the thumbnails off someone's Instagram or FB. I hope those anal beads don't scratch up the watch.
  2. You don't drill holes in the movement. At best, you can look in to having someone clip the dial feet and solder them on in ETA locations. Most just clip em and use dial dots.
  3. i think the craziest part is the $5000 leather strap... a 38mm 18kt gold AppleWatch with "sports band" is $10k. a 38 18kt gold AppleWatch with "modern buckle" is $15k. that makes the strap $5000 i dont even think Hermes is that ballsy!! i kinda wanted to check it out until i found the version i was thinking of getting (Stainless steel w/ mesh) would be close to $700. i can buy a real watch for that much.
  4. I doubt it needs a specific battery. I have a tag (4000) from that era and have swapped it out with Duracell ones a few times with zero issues. Is the battery in correctly? They kinda snap in place but they also have a little cage thing that goes over it to keep it in place. It can come off while you screw the case back in. Check all that and If that doesn't work, the new movement idea will prob be the cheapest route.
  5. thats a phong i believe. looks great.
  6. youre expecting way too much from reps.
  7. yea.. id be interested in one of these too... got a link?
  8. damn. that looks great! i never really was a big fan of the maxi-dial or the fat min hand but every time i see one of these posted, it makes me want one even more.... congrats
  9. tough call honestly. i hope its not like when a cashier at a grocery store gives you the wrong change and has to pay for their mistake out of their pocket. if thats the case, i would take it back and make sure it wasnt a mistake. at the least, dont spend it right away. hang on to it for a few weeks in case someone comes looking for it.
  10. i think they were more of a prediction one of the blog sites made. they also predicted the california dial ranger which i think is pretty cool. one i do hope actually happens is the rootbeet GMT Master II never been a fan of 2 tone watches but the rootbeer looks amazing.
  11. had a noob DJII. it was a great rep but i think the BP version is better. the noob DJIIs major flaw was the date window being slightly too small making the 20s cut off slightly. BPs is slightly better. also the crystal doesnt have AR on the cyclop. BP i believe does. the dial on the stick marker DJIIs are VERY nice. a gen dial is always better but i dont think its a noticeable enough difference to go gen on the dial. the flued bezel is where the rep screams rep. the reps have a much wider fluted bezel. smooth bezel seems to be closer to gen. no clue if these will take gen bezels and wasnt really tryin to pay $1000+ or so to find out. overall, the DJII reps are def worth $250 or whatever the price is. i had the blue dial with fluted bezel but always wanted the white dial with a round bezel. if i had to do it over, id get a BP DJII with round bezel. the fluted bezel is beautiful though and only the die hards will ever notice the wider bezel. good luck.

    Rep or Gen

Rep. The second hand pinion hole is usually a dead giveaway
  13. reps... prices go up. quality goes down. that sucks man. hopefully you can get it sorted out. im finding more and more reasons to just stick to m2m sales lately. at least those are generally in working condition when being sold. if theres something wrong with them, its at least disclosed most of the time.
  14. you really have no options. that watch is gone. not a thing you can do about it. its not like youre gonna talk them in to sending you your counterfeit watch. its not a misunderstanding. you ordered illegal items through the mail. just let you TD know. most will send a replacement.
  15. you can find a lot of bamfords with 21js in them. gen bamford makes some cool watches but the reps are ehh imo.
  16. modified A7750 with Sec@6... i wouldnt buy it.
  17. you wont be on any watch list. dont call. just ignore the letter and let your TD know. if there was a list, i would have been on it many years ago.
  18. you could always do all this. i sure wouldnt mind having my TC polished/re-brushed professionally.
  19. for ST19 movements? i know they can easily be bought for the 7750's. its the ST19 ones that seem to be rare. if he can get them, i might have to make a repgeek acct.
  20. thats pretty cool. i thought it was photoshopped or something. never seen one of those before. edit: this post got me curious so i went to see if there were gen leftys.. apparently Rolex did make some lefty watches. "The model 16660 was the first sapphire glass version of the Sea Dweller and the first to be rated for 4,000 feet depth capability. Rolex Geneva records show that it was delivered to the French company COMEX specifically for a diver who wished to wear his watch on his right arm, although the watch bears no COMEX identification. Rolex produced an unknown number of Datejusts in the 1950s with Left Hand configuration and ten 18k model 1680 Submariners in the late 1970s. However this is the only known sapphire glass watch and the only Sea Dweller known to have been made in this unusual configuration. I choose to wear it on my left wrist which makes the watch very comfortable as the crown no longer digs into the back of my hand as I type." im not left handed but that is cool.
  21. i take the bracelet off and use a scotchbrite pad or steel wool to re-brush. just be sure you go straight up and down. repeat until youre happy with the result. put bracelet in zip loc bag and spray WD40 in there. enough to cover the entire bracelet. soak overnight. wash with soap and water. then i rub petroleum jelly in to the joints and wipe dry with paper towels. should feel as smooth as gen.
