  1. 26mm is the wrong size for 1680. It should be 26.5 I believe. Cartel cases take 26mm dials but need a lot of work. MBW I think takes 26mm too but impossible to find and expensive if you can one.
  2. One of my fav vintage rolexes. Been considering the yuki kit but they don't have the lug holes and the wrong size. Would you be offering dials too?
  3. I think the Pelagos + new TClv has everyone making room IMO. Lots of bbs have goin around lately. Lots of omegas too. PAMs. APs. Patek all seem to have the same sell pattern. I'm just waiting for the right TCLV V1.2,3 or a YM. To come at the right price.
  4. Why would you be paranoid sending a rolex to the rolex service center? Unless you've got rep parts on there, shouldn't be any problems. The only thing you should expect is a large bill
  5. Ah. I knew it looked familiar. I've seen the polexpete dwos. By far one of the best vintage dwos. Congrats again. It's a beautiful watch
  6. That looks like a 21j... Aka the cheapest movement in reps. On the plus side, they're fairly reliable. Hope you didn't pay a lot.
  7. wow! i usually hate exp IIs but yours looks amazing! where did you get that DWO??!
  8. ball of duct tape will get most rep case backs off. this is why i prefer the 16610 subs. the ceramic is REALLY hard to rep. too many noticeable tells even on the best reps. honestly though, if you sit there and look for tells on a rep, youre gonna find them on even the best reps. you dont wanna go down that rabbit hole. you cant come back. just enjoy the watch for it is. most people will never know the tells. besides, everyone assumes a rolex is fake anyway.
  9. id get a nice 16800 or a 16660. they can sometimes be gotten in the 6k range. nice vintage look without going too vintage. sapphire crystal instead of the plexi that normally comes with the old matte dials. very collectable and they hold their value pretty well quite a few available on the bay right now with providence and in the price range.
  10. the hands, the dial, the insert, the rehaut, The date, the crown, the LEC, the cyclop.. all scream rep. 99% of the population wouldnt notice though. its just us watch geeks that scrutinize every detail.
  11. Every dealer should have this. Great watch. I have the blue dial and love it. Only thing I'm changing is the crystal. Would rather have no LEC than one you can see easily. Plus, my crystal isn't clear so that made the decision easy. Replacement crystal isn't cheap tho. $40 bucks for a non rolex/no ar one.
  12. the rivet bracelets are a damn nightmare to adjust. i had one for a shor time. they look great but i didnt trust it after i adjusted it. ended up selling.
  13. hes taking orders. $620 + shipping + PP Fees. 30 day quoted turnaround. kinda steep but im not a fan of the maxi-dials.. i do want one of those inserts though.
  14. if you cant tell thats a rep, you have more money than sense imo. the ICHS, the wrong color lume, the lack of AR on the cyclop, wrong clasp engravings.. just about every picture he posted has tells. /facepalm and we rep freaks scrutinize every detail worrying about tells.
  15. my fav watch in the collection imo.
  16. The pics op posted isn't a DJII. it's a modern datejust but the smaller 36mm with the old markers. DJII has much bigger markers (like milgauss) and is 41mm. The watch in the pic is def not a 41mm unless the reviewer has giant hands
  17. Sounds like it will be soon. KH LV Dial?!? Looks like the value of the old TC LVs just dropped! Lol
  18. i think the DSSD looks horrible. the thick case/lugs, the ring lock..etc all look a bit clumsy. unless you really are a deep sea diver, i think a regular Seadweller looks better. with the given choices though, id go with a 1680. 1680s are pure class imo. its not the generic submariner every banker has. its for a true aficionado. with that said, i need to start a new vintage build. i miss my 1680. considering hes a big fellow, maybe he should go for a AP, Omega PO 45mm or a Patek? lots of good looking large watches out there that look much better than the DSSD. hell, even a DJII at 41mm is a good choice if he wants a rolex
  19. http://www.trusty-watch.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_12&products_id=1478 might be as close are youre gonna get. im not a fan of the small DJs. 36mm is a womans size imo. i do like the new DJIIs 41mm
  20. My first and only PAM. Started out as a Jackson MM. Got a superlumed noob dial + hands And a swan neck A6497 in it. Rarely wear it but today it just feels right.
  21. The only problem I had with mine is.. Once the date got stuck and when I trie to pull the crown out to set the time, it would not go. Tried a few times and almost flipped out. Tried one more time before I made a post and it popped right in to time setting position. Haven't had a problem since. I will say though. The TC crown is a [censored] to get to the time setting position. I always have to rotate a little to pull put further.
  22. congrats! i think the older DJs look much better than the modern ones. i just wish they were bigger.
  23. looks good! i still like the old rounded inserts. *shrug as a TC owner i would say it would be virtually impossible for a regular (non watch nerd like us) person to pick it out as a rep. the only tell thats noticeable imo is the second hand pinion hole. that bracelet will eventually wear down to a nice smooth finish. i give it a polish and re-brush it every once in a while bc im incredibly OCD. congrats
  24. if youre not familiar with reps, i would not reccomend a A7750 movement based one as your first very temperamental movements with a pretty high fail rate to people who dont know how to care for them. the A7750s are like Mogwais. they come with a lot of rules and you must follow them or they will turn in to gremlins. if you still wanna take a gamble on one, i think Tony at Asian7750 may still be having a sale on these.
