  1. From what I understand he can do it right now. I am ordering 2 dials, one for vintage sub and one for a modern build. Both gen footing as I'll use a Mike serviced Y-3135 in the latter.
  2. yes! I've spoken with him and as long as I provide a 26mm dial he is good to go. He will do embossed/raised lettering and such, very excited to see how it comes out.
  3. I just sort of mocked this up (hope you don't mind me borrowing your image) for a 5513 - I'll email Helenarou about it - it'll need to be diameter of 26 mm, the dial feet position at 30 and 57 minute.
  4. I really would like one of these dials for my Sub. If I could get the 200m/660ft in red, and then everything else the same that would be HOT. I've been wanting to turn my 5513 sub into something a bit more "vintage custom." Do you think Helenarou could do a dial to fit on a Rolex Cal. 1520 movement in a 5513 size case? I never really thought my Yuki dial was the best.
  5. Thank you - yes I did drill the lugholes and DBane gave them the final touch.
  6. It's missing that little dot thing in the triangle so it's worthless.
  7. In my eternal quest for perfection, even though it's unobtainable, I have added a box and papers to the 5513. I am also debating putting back on a gen "worn-in" insert versus the grey rep. I enjoy swapping things around. My brother has a fine Swiss typewriter from the correct period of the watch, we'll be using that to fill in the paperwork with the corresponding serials', etc. Should come out beautifully. I also have a fountain pen with correct age ink (I'm weird, I know) for the rest of it. What do you guys think? It's basically almost all gen, including a totally rebuilt cal.1520 that runs perfectly. DBane worked his magic on the case, the chamfers are gorgeous. The picture with the black insert is just it sitting over the other. You might be lucky to be seeing this watch for sale at some point in the near future Nothing on it is stock-rep, it's either genuine or highly modded. If someone has a better insert, I'm open to it
  8. Thoughts on this piece? It has swiss movement, has been serviced / AR'd and lumed also the screws had been worked by Domi. How's it look, any improvements I should make? I prefer it on it's metal bracelet for comfort. Might consider a Donerix tho. Happy to get feedback on it and suggestions
  9. Gentlemen I thank you very much - you've saved me some $$$ and headache. I appreciate it. I will wait for the new one.
  10. The Miller Dave has a gen case 2.1 mil serial # PM him.
  11. I don't believe so. They are only using two registers as opposed to 3 on a Daytona, wherein lies the problem from what I understand. I'm more concerned about the sunken-datewheel and it being off on this. As well some other "tells" on the face.
  12. Thank you! Complete with box and papers! if aged well, I would definitely use them
  13. Yup. Here's mine, and then I took them off. They glared too much. So I replaced them with sort of glitzy'ish Rolex 55xx steel hands that I came across And I find that the gilt dial now sets the steel hands a-glow nicely and it's better balanced.
  14. Hi All Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this piece I'm considering. I'm looking at several rep's from our TD's on this model, and I think I've settled on Ryan's (InTime) - the IWC Spitfire Chrono - http://www.intime.co/iwc/1530-pilot-spitfire-chrono-gray-dial-ss-on-black-leather-a7750.html I'll be putting a nice custom Peter strap on it. The question I have is - the datewheel in all the reps looks a bit sunken, this one looks to be the best of all the reps - is there anyone out there who can do a good lume job on this watch and make the datewheel nice and flush as per genuine? Please see rep pictures, and genuine for comparison
  15. Thanks - I really didn't fancy the feel on the rubber strap and the metal bracelet is much more comfortable for me. Glad you like it!
  16. Exactly correct - the movements themselves have skyrocketed in price because they can go into Daytona's and repper's /frankeners what have you are driving that market. Also, just having them around for parts for vintage daytona's is important...so, that and the ever scarce donor watch market leaves you with a rather expensive movement.
