  1. I never had any response from them when I was shopping... I think I'm going to use a genuine (refinished) Singer gilt gloss dial from MillerDave as well as faded MKII insert. Pics attached.
  2. Those old NDT dials really were great... wish they still did business.
  3. Whenever I see a watch like that Christopher Walken's "This was up my ass" speech comes into mind from Pulp Fiction haha - Wear it in good health, be a steward for it for future generations.
  4. That's not a bad idea, any guidance on how to best go about doing it?
  5. I was told by the seller (and provided with emails / receipts) that Domi did: V5.1 confirm genuine swiss movement movement service & mod to low beat AR crystal lume - dial and hands rhodium and recess screws, adjust
  6. I think it's the lighting - looking at it now they all match - Domi relumed it.
  7. I think that's what I'm looking for, texture and maybe some raise in the lettering? I'd love it if there was some way to do that.
  8. Hi All, This is my pride and joy. Genuine cal.1520 and much in the way of gen parts or high quality work. DBane worked the case beautifully, and Dazza lumed up the dial quite lovely. I have a genuine perfectly faded MKII insert coming from Dave. The thing I find is the dial still feels a little "flat" and I am looking for someone to "crank it up to 11" or tell me it's the best it can be... Either post what you'll do and for what $$$ and/or PM me. Here's a couple decent shots of the watch as it sits now.
  9. Doesn't blow my skirt up but a great starting point.
  10. Whats your take on this? I bought it awhile back, been through Domi's hands
  11. Get that Explorer out from between those Panerai, it makes it look dainty! lol Also, if you want a caseback sticker for the Explorer - I have one for sale - just rough it up a little bit with sandpaper, it's NOS - great addition to the watch.
  12. Can't beat TC, next best bet is BK on here.
  13. The watch seems to add up for my eye - 3035 caliber, which started in 1977 phasing out the 1500's - MKIII insert nicely aged to a blue hue, missing bracelet so it won't go too high. No service / watchmaker marks or writing on caseback is a little concerning - but not everyone does it and some people fake it, so that's 50/50.
  14. Because Harry Winston is a crazy as F_ck genius and makes whimsical watches for billionaires.
  15. The biggest tell for me in the forged carbon series and in most AP rep's is the detailing exhibited on the tapestry dial. On the FC you can see a definitive carbon-fiber cross-thatching in the genuine dial.
  16. What is this costing you? How much for dial print?
  17. There's already 2 or 3 companies doing this with barely any success. A friend tried the same thing with exotic cars - it failed.
  18. I am curious if you buy it does he just print out the picture and mail it to you?
  19. Basically one or two years of socking this $$ away and you can buy a genuine. If you can't afford a real A.Lange&Sohnne then you probably shouldn't be wearing around a "rental." As far as reps go... I think that the majority of "dress watch" reps are easy tells and should probably be avoided particularly if you're wearing them "in good company." In some of the circles I travel in, it would be far more respected for me to be wearing my simple genuine Zenith Chronomaster to a black-tie affair, rather than a rep. If someone were to notice it as a rep, I don't think anyone would even say anything but it would be an immediate black mark and word would travel. Believe me, those that know... know.
  20. Excited to see this! It will rival mine for sure I have a gen beautifully faded MKII coming from Dave as well. It'll be the piece de resistance to the build.
