  1. I'm speechless... I want a friggin laser welder!
  2. I love how eBay gives you like what, 250 characters or less to report something? Maybe less? I just write "ITS FAKE YOU MORONS!"
  3. If I was forced to wear that watch, as some sort of punishment, I should loose thine own hand rather than let such an abomination rest upon my wrist.
  4. Sublime! That's really lovely, tell me more?
  5. Isn't the Coronet on the clasp off on the 23J models? I'd take that $3500 Rolex 4130 in a heartbeat if it would fit in any good reps.
  6. Agreed with Automatico - these movements need to be (from what I understand) extremely high-end with a large barrel power reserve or the watch is basically useless. I really love the micro-rotors and you can really see the beauty of the movement and with decoration they're spectacular... this one looks way more genuine than any other Calatrava open back rep I've seen, but I'd be worried about the movement and power reserve - not rich enough to "try it out" for $350 bucks.
  7. The real issue at hand here is mental health and how we handle it as a society. This guy was clearly a step away from ending it regardless of what pushed him over the edge, and that is what really makes me sad; when people get to that point.
  8. http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/message/1452098829/F.S.1962+rare+1601+YG+W-paper%2B1680%2B1601+2+tone%2B1601+grey+%2BLOTS+Of+parts-(Bracelets%2C+cases) There's one for sale, $5k to $4700 ish
  9. This will be a continuing issue until someone clones the Rolex Cal.4030 movement, until then, there will not be a good Daytona rep that satisfies everyone. The non-working chrono's are a non-starter for half the market, the kablooey modified 7750 and fat case is a non-starter for the other side of the market. Quite honestly...whoever can effectively clone the cal.4030 first, and produce a quality Daytona rep will essentially guarantee their retirement $$$$.... that it hasn't been done yet, given the innovations available to the rep producers, tells you how hard it is. Give it 2-3 years and we may see one? Or be on the lookout for a broken 4030 Daytona ... Not super expensive to run an ad on craigslist and in your local paper looking for broken Rolex watches. Some people don't know, or don't care. You could get it repaired for a thousand bucks at the most, and if it costs you $3,500 to buy a broken Daytona, all in you're at it for $5k maybe, and well ahead of the game.
  10. I would be happy to post close-ups, but my 3 year old has made off with my OlloClip... seriously, cannot find it *anywhere* I'm no good at taking close-ups and don't have any other macro lenses, so this crap iPhone pic is the best I can do right now. This is supposed to be a 50 year old watch...so scratches, imperfections etc are on purpose. It will go unpolished hence forth.
  11. Ladies & Gentlemen, For your consideration: Genuine Rolex Cal.1520 serviced, worn parts replaced including auto-wind mech and balanceGenuine Rolex T-19 PlexiGenuine Rolex 700 crown and tubeGenuine bezel assembly, modified to case. 12. Same to you! basically gen 5513 PCG
  13. Paul Altieri will probably take it off your hands but at a slightly lower price than open market. What you could do, if time is not a factor, is take whatever their offer amount is and put it on eBay with that amount as the reserve, and see what happens. https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-blog/rolex-info/vintage-week-rolex-date-reference-1503.html http://www.oedvintage.com/en/rolex-date-34mm-18k-solid-gold-ref-1503.html http://www.thehouseofsolidgold.com/rolex-oyster-perpetual-date-1503-in-18k-rose-gold-for-men-extremely-rare/ -- they want $16k because it's rose gold http://www.chrono24.com/en/rolex/date--id3898499.htm - $5,700 I'd venture between $5,500 and $6,200 from what I've seen...
  14. These people have been around in one form or another for YEARS. They sell you whatever the best level (Noob/ZF etc) rep they can get their hands on, and they use photo's of the genuine watches. They cater to a handful (hopefully) of people that think in order to get a great rep you have to be in low 4 digit range $, and have no idea that communities like ours exist, or frankens, or our TD's. Shameful really.
  15. Gentlemen I really enjoy the Planet Ocean rep's but I find the Cal,8500 to be lacking just a couple of things (Puretime used as example) Blued screws and a black balance wheel, and a better balance bridge. Does anyone have any experience modding these? Are the parts available? I think it would really take the watch to the next level. Or...conversely, is there a better version of the rep movement?
