I bought a Daytona from another member here very recently and it's dead. I'm super disappointed as it was just serviced/rebuilt... Since it's a harder to find dial / watch I am looking for someone US Stateside that can repair it for me, and potentially upgrade it. Please PM me. It is a 7750 base with running seconds @ 6. Also one of the chrono-pushers has fallen off lol.

Absolutely it was a good ego boost It does seem that if it has a 1520 or 1570 in it people are apt to snatch it up, almost regardless. Mine at least has a gen MKII bezel, gen dial and crown/tube. The mid-case is the only thing non-gen on mine. Even case-back is gen.

Shop? I hope you mean online - please see the Trusted Dealer section. Welcome!

I had sent a few pictures over to a well known watch dealer of my 5513 gilt PCG... just for masturbatory pleasure - and he offered me $17,000.00 for it. Certainly made my day lol. Now obviously had I sent it to him, I'd have gotten spoken to and he'd have probably been pretty angry - lol, and rightfully so. I'm not one to do that. eBay is *dangerous* for buying vintage Rolex -anything-

I believe you got a reasonable answer from one of our top AP guru's. The watch has flaws. Almost all ROO's do. If you like it, buy it. Just don't expect to fool AP-freaks.

I did on a Miyota powered FauxMega but there's no seconds-hand on the Maranez, so no problem -

Huge fan of Miyota movements. The one in my Maranez (boutique brand from Thailand) keeps damn near perfect time, and sits in the winder next to a five-figure Zenith. -
Indeed. I'm not thrilled that they've shipped off some of their manufacturing. I bought my wife one of the quilted models, not-waxed, thing was still like $400 and made in Lithuania... They claim all the same nonsense that other companies do, "process is still as good, same materials" yeah, except just cheaper labour, and consequently the jacket should cost less. They're not using their union UK shops, hence the jacket is jacked up 2-3x and their lining their coffers. So is the way of the world.

When in doubt, check your phone, and then adjust your $(x)x,xxx timepiece accordingly, weekly.

Dude, I've had Barbour jackets now for 30 years. Only 2. 15 years a pop roughly. I gave the last one to a friend who was going to grad-school in Scotland at St. Andrews, I told him it was all roughed up and aged, and that it would get him laid... it did. They are phenomenal jackets, I rewax it myself.

Pocket-watch re-case? - I didn't know Omega made Flieger's but that's a really cool watch.

Nice piece! I always worry about the black engravings on the back rubbing off - it happened on two Omega's...

Extreme modding V6 noob submariner with genuine movement
508-Fanatic replied to Marwanharb's topic in The Rolex Area
Rolex has it's own foundry, and cases, bracelet and crown - stainless steel or gold are all made at Rolex in their plant in Switzerland. Nothing in, near or touching anything in a Rolex is made in Mexico. Wherever you read that, it's garbage. -
