  1. Great pics! Just how you came across those masterpieces are beyond me... Great pics! Just how you came across those masterpieces are beyond me...
  2. Because the fonts in the ETA wheels are much sharper and crisper.
  3. I think it has been implied that a humane way of killing them is letting them die by natural causes. But then how would the meat be? Not in my supermarket, I'll tell you that. This is just threadcr*pping! No negative responses to my post!
  4. I'm considering picking this up....but not for the 16520...the PAM 60.
  5. It comes with two movement clamps. If REX is unable to help you out, PM me. I am located in the CONUS (East Coast) and can have it back to you within the week.
  6. wow. look at how far we've become. To sum it up for anyone who won't bother reading the last 12 pages of posts: Dani was bringing up the subject of the way Dogs are killed in China and we should do something about it. Then his words may have been lost in translation because somewhere along the line we thought he meant that the Chinese are savages for eating the meat, not the way they are killed. Dani comes back to say that again, it's the KILLING OF DOGS, or slaughter method, is inhumane. Then we see some other posts about various slaughter methods and the occasional "is that not humane as well?". And then TeeJay and Pugwash throw down a dabate as to whether or not the Halal/Kosher method of slaughter is humane/barbaric and the occasional "oh yeah? prove it!". We then see Jnagy throw in the slaughter methods of wildlife/hunting and the fish. Again, Dani jumps in to remind us that the topic is about Dogs. Everyone ignores him and then it gets to religion and evolution and each individual's altruistic beliefs when TT says: "more ranting about Religion and Politics and then I'll have to close the topic." We wake up and once, again we are talking about what is being put to slaughter. Narikaa then puts a disgusting (obviously fake) picture of a man eating a human fetus. Dani reminds us once again, that the topic was about the way the DOGS are KILLED. Pugwash then tells him that his credibility is shot because there is a much bigger picture here. And to add this for Victoria: "Victoria questions Pugwash if he considers that only extremists have the most logical motives." Is this going to end up in the looney bin? Or will extremeists chime in?
  7. Hahahahahahaha!!!!! VERY FUNNY, Victoria! Actually, for those who don't know Cicero, it means: As you sow, you shall reap!
  8. I know people like that... The one who purposely buttons his shirtcuff on the second hole (smaller diameter) so that his watch HAS to be displayed... He who wears his watch with a few extra links that makes it no longer elegant... She who always sits and rest her head on her arm... ...guilty as charged!
  9. What happened to your movement clamp? It looks to be missing. And if that did not fall out with the screw, it could be blocking the balance and/or pallet arbor from moving.
  10. The WG in gens are plated with a Palladium alloy whereas it is Rhodium plated on the reps. Matter-of-factly, this is mainly hearsay; someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  11. I agree with all the above posters. It has been said that the rubber strap on the gen is made of natural rubber (taken from trees) [maybe reason why it is so expensive]. and the strap on the rep is made of silicone.
  12. OP must be talking about this:
  13. Gen: Rep: Close, but not correct. The gen uses a La-Joux Perret 8235 (which is just a modified 7750), so if you EVER happen to cross the gen day/date wheels, they will fit.
  14. It's not that easy. You would need to add a running seconds wheel, which is probably not included in the 111 (if it is, then the post is filed down).
  15. I've looked in my watchbox, found this... I have to give my gens some wristtime too: Ut sementem feceris, its metes.
  16. The subdial hands are 0.17mm and the centre seconds are 0.25mm on the ETA 7750. On the A7750, they are 0.20mm. So your old hands won't fit (the centre seconds can be broached to fit, though.) The hour and minute hands are interchangeable, however.
  17. Upgrading is still possible. Your avenues: Do It Yourself if you can break down and put back together a 7750 Contact a watchsmith who will take on the job Contact The Zigmeister (but he may be booked solid for the next two-three months) or get 7750-equivalent hands.
  18. Take a snapshot of the movement and the screw. Maybe we can help you identify where it belongs to.
  19. That depends on which version of the A7750 you have: Low-beat versions hand sizes are the same as the Swiss 7750. High-beat versions have different size posts than the Swiss 7750. The minutes transfer from 12 to 3 are just the addition of three gears that transfer the function from position A to B. You can use those parts and bring them over to the Swiss 7750.
  20. There is access to his section, where he has a complete breakdown on the 7750 movement. You may PM him separately if you would like to request his services, but he offers a plethora of info and the way you can access it is by upgrading. There's a little button on the top right hand corner of the webpage labelled "upgrade". PS: PM me about your 2836 if you are in the US. I can fix it for you.
  21. It's just too bad that this rumored version would have the chrono pushers on the same plane as the crown; unless if it is modded of course. But I guess having the movement function @ 12:00 would be an improvement; but I'll hold out until the second revision is out, IMO.
  22. It has been noted in the past that newer YG/RG reps are PVD coated (or maybe DLC) rather than electroplated. So yes, the durability has improved, and may last oxidization. Just don't scratch it, though.
  23. The 6.75 model does NOT have the seconds placement issue. The slide rule on the gen utilises a turning pinion system (that's why there is a "button" @ 9 o'clock) that turning the bezel causes the inner bezel to turn as well. In the rep, the inner bezel is attached to the outer bezel, so a turn of the bezel would turn both the crystal (crystal is attached to the case on the gen) and the inner bezel. There may also be the issues with the color of the inner bezel ring and the spacing of the tick marks. @ oscar steven: no, the aftermarket bezel won't fit.
  24. To date, there are none. Also, look for the small "OP" logo on the caseback if you are getting a gen J-series if not from an AD. And always, I recommend buying the watch with papers and movement/case labels.
  25. All payments should be consolidated into one account (or two, maybe three if there are large amounts to be had), and then send one, two, or three PP payments to Rob. It saves him the risk of having his account restricted. And again, maybe we should reiterate that NO MENTION ABOUT REP PRODUCT(S). Maybe Pete Tong tickets, if you will. Just a suggestion.
