Hey Watchmeister That's interesting-- What's behind Jay-Z promoting Hublot? Seems odd after being a spokesman for AP for all these years, especially with the evolution and history of the AP RO and ROO case designs preceding/anticipating Hublot BB? Won't everyone see right through this? Also trying to figure out what words rhyme with Hublot that Jay-Z would want to use in a song. (THREAD HIJACK OVER)

Dutchman2, it might be subtle but as great as the A7753 PAM250 rep dial is, I am under the impression that the subdials have had the wrong texture or insufficient depth, at least in earlier runs-- this might have been corrected since. Also uncertain of date window placement vs. gen and eta7753 positions, but I plan to dissect one in the near future. Mike, cool that you also find this to be a grail. Not the most expensive watch to have as a grail, and really I should have gotten one by now as they are not bad on the resale or NOS market... Low $6k without bargaining on K series. By the same token, have to watch costs on the franken closely or you'll end up tossing more than $2k on the project, which is hard to justify given the cost of the gen.

HK Tan has made something just like this using material from an abandoned sofa -- just need to burn OP on it... Also, I disagree with the terminology of vintage in reference to things that are 15 years old-- unless extremely rare that's just plain used. Now if the seller is claiming this is THE prototype of the 24/22 strap that's another matter, but that's going to be tough to prove.

Wow my thoughts exactly. If I had the nerve to claim that vintage and value, I'd have at least a letter of authenticity from OP, or whomever can vouch for pre vendome items in an official capacity.

Cool Something I have always wanted to try but could never get to go because the lugs were too short on my old school 029b. Very interesting look. Sort of an anachronism because the daylight bracelets came out much later, right? Tempted to try this with my 029m, would love to see this with the new single link design bracelet.

thanks for the +ive feedback guys esp W-- you talked me off of a ledge when I first acquired the gen dial a while ago, and convinced me that it would be worthwhile proceeding. the funny thing about a franken is it that it makes you feel about halfway between having a really good rep and having a a nice used gen.

Well I feel a little late to the game in posting this, but I thought I would share because it took some time and effort. After multiple cases, handsets, dials and DWs, I have a nearly completed ETA 7753 250G daylight, with gen dial and taka DW, and a few other mods. The A7753 based 250K reps are cosmetically near perfect but I wanted a perfect dial and a reliable movement in the long term, as this has been something of a grail watch for me. There are a few mods left... I want to thank Zigmeister for getting me this far. Sorry for the iPhone pic...

I think if you're fairly certain of their lineage you'd be right to ask $200 or so, the aftermarket DWs do have some glitches and limitations, even though some look really convincing

Definitely saved yourself loads of trouble. Recovering money after bad deals go down on ebay can take months if ever... I had to get a county prosecutor involved after eBay and square trade failed me. Don't look back for a second.

Not an expert here but the alignment looks appropriate for a 3 o'clock window position. Your friend must have some nice watches passing through his workshop.

Agree, seems the noob and hfacs tried to make up for many years of terrible PAM reps. Would have had more impact when PAM fever was greater three years ago. PAMs at Costco and Amazon, and near perfect out of the box PAM reps, surely a sign of the end of an era Would like to see ANY reasonable Breguet rep at all.
