  1. +1 on Allen Edmonds here... And +1 - very nice!
  2. Gorgeous! (177, right?) Congrats.
  3. The Zigmeister has always had good things to say about Selita movements too.
  4. Here's an old timer:
  5. 840 Euro, what's that about 1200 USD these days... not bad at all. I think they're at least 1200 after the latest price increase here.
  6. Just start calling Rolex ADs. Act dumb. Call mall dealers. They'll usually be willing to make a sale. But call all the local ADs. If you can't find one locally that will sell at retail I'd be surprised. I suppose, technically, these guys shouldn't be selling bracelets without seeing the head or the old bracelet. So maybe some of 'em figure if they're "breaking the rules" already, why not jack up the price a bit. I was told by my trusty dealer that every AD in instructed to sell at the current suggested retail price, right out of the book.
  7. I love that storefront. I bet it feels a bit like walking back in time going in there. PS Enjoy the PO
  8. That's not supposed to happen... not at US authorized dealers anyhow. Where was this? I've noticed that Euro-AD pricing is in the stratosphere on bracelets... and not because of the dollar turning to toilet paper. Just totally different pricing, unless as you say, some of those dealers are taking a markup.
  9. Almost looks like overzealous soldering... scorching as TJ says. Agree, though, I'd leave it as is.
  10. Any AD who will sell the bracelet will sell it at the suggested retail price, in my experience. There was recently a price increase on these, but about a year or so ago I seem to recall that retail price being $1140.
  11. Gen bracelet was $1100ish (retail) before the recent price increase.
  12. Ditto the esteemed Hackr's observations
  13. Hey Ronin, are you familiar with Kore Flatmo? His work is the best I've ever seen.
  14. Gotta agree with the above two posts. I'd suggest having your wife go to an experienced tattoo artist to fix up that sleeve. Anyhow, here's my personal favorite local tattoo artist's work for comparison: Dawei Tattoo
  15. I think I have one. Don't remember if it's 42 or 45mm. I'll definitely sell it if anyone's interested. As I recall it's used with one minor nick.
  16. No sir. I wish. It's someone's gen that I pulled out of my bookmarks... I think that combo is super sharp.
  17. Good stuff Dave. Strap suggestion: Manifatture Firenze Sport Tech with blue stitch. The MF website isn't very clear on stitch colors, but when you contact them, they'll gladly tell you the right color blue for the 253.. Examples:
  18. Looking forward to seeing which strap you use... I'm torn, myself, on the best choice for this one.
  19. Well I've got no dog in this fight. I'm simply providing what I think is an objective viewpoint. Take it for what it's worth. From where I sit, there was little to no transition period between your joining the forum and starting to sell parts and then watches. And you don't seem to regularly participate in discussion. Now, keep in mind, I'm not saying this is a bad thing. It is what it is. But usually people who are here for the discussion and because they share a passion, undergo a transition from regular forum member to becoming a regular seller or someone who offers services; it's almost like a natural progression. So, based simply on appearances alone and without going in to economics or the like, my observation would be that you joined the forum with the intent to sell. And, again, I'm not saying that is good or bad. But I don't think you should be surprised to find out others might have the same impression. And while I don't hold it against you, others might.
  20. Interesting that you bring this up. The parallels are many. Both came to the forum not to participate in discussion, but with the primary purpose to sell. Both built up a cult following rapidly. Etc. Nevertheless, Concepta is not K2222. And I've got no reason to assume he ever will be. But the point of buyer beware is one not to be taken lightly.
  21. Nice. That's USPS for you. Kinda goes hand in hand with the international indemnities when you're trying to insure a package... and maybe 5% of postal clerks understand the indemnities and can accurately explain to you what they are. So to sum up... USPS: Ship internationally, and we won't take normal measures to secure the package nor will we insure it when our inattention to registered parcels causes loss or damage. What's the point of keeping the USPS around anymore at all??? Anyone? Beuler?
  22. Gorgeous combo here...
  23. There was a time when they could be trusted? By the way, what's the source of this story? I was searching for it on google, and couldn't find much.
