Thank you brother 👍

Apologies, like any group we fling shorthand, acronyms and weird numbers around with abandon. So glad you asked instead of just being mystified. Hey @LifeTrekker throw a picture of your new TC up for @mzinski will ya?
-
That brother is what I have always said about vintage Rolex. At least one can wear them instead of keeping them in a bank vault, and it seems while 16610LV rocket in price, TC Subs are keeping pace

One can hope, I seem to remember that didn’t turn out as predicted

The light blue is just woad that has washed off in the rain isn’t it?

Very nicely done @MRWOZZA70 and great write up. @automatico always informative and entertaining to read your thoughts

Well everything is bigger in the States. A touch of hypo on the case back and you can probably even get away without a mid case -

That is not the appropriate method, in fact it is a bit improvised and amateur. Get a proper press, it helps. I guarantee crystals I fit won’t come out -
Sunshine in Scotland! Global warming is getting serious. How far has Elon got with terraforming Mars?

I would ship half way across the world to use the right guy, rather than use the wrong guy locally. Even if they will work on it, if they aren’t well versed in the rep game, they aren’t going to give the results you want -
Submariner cases 16610 & 16610LV no longer available?

You could try a WTB, you never know what guys have stuffed in a parts drawer -
Submariner cases 16610 & 16610LV no longer available?
Sogeha replied to horologist's topic in General Discussion
I don’t think they have totally disappeared. Demand for cases might have slackened off to the point that they are no longer stocked I suppose. What is your definition of an economy build? A Yuki case is around the same price as a complete JF 16610. Raffles cases were never that accurate and a 16610 from DHGate might suit as a starting point for a build if total accuracy isn’t a requirement. Should run to about $60 for a 23j. Here is what Puretime currently lists, some dealers might be helpful in finding just a case, if you know what to ask for first. https://puretime.io/catalogsearch/result/index/?p=2&q=16610 Oh, there is also the Startime case -
5512/13, 1680 case info and a few questions...
Sogeha replied to automatico's topic in The Rolex Area
A lot depends what you want. The winding crown is too low on the Cartel cases and they are far too thick. They are pretty much all the same case, so 1680 is actually a 5513 and the dial opening is too small, so won’t take the good aftermarket 1680 dials if I remember correctly. -
Welcome to our community. I’m happy to hear that you have already found our knowledge base useful Probably one of these:- https://puretime.io/sea-dweller-116660-arf-1-1-best-edition-black-dial-904l-ss-case-and-bracelet-sh3135.html https://puretime.io/sea-dweller-deepsea-116660-black-ceramic-v7-1-1-noob-best-edition-sa3135.html

^^^What he said^^^ Never heard of NY factory. JF is generally considered best at AP. The “factories” have good reason to keep a low profile and don’t sell direct. Are you sure this isn’t another scam site posting pictures of genuine watches?

Ten years on the forum, good buyer feedback. Get a VIP upgrade and you can ask PayPal gift as far as I’m concerned.

http://rubyswatch.com/ http://www.yukiwatch.net/ http://vintagewatchesmq.com/minhquy/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=98&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1 Take your pick. None are TDs but all are known. MQ is the hardest to deal with

Trusty is a long time and respected TD here and on other fora. I haven’t previously come across Union Watches, they are not a TD here and as far as I know not anywhere else, which means if you have a problem, you are on your own. A quick glance suggests all their watches are now a “bargain” having previously been $800 - $900. That stinks, no way was a quartz or Miyota based watch ever so much more than the very best reps available. If anything i would say Union Watches sale price is still about $30 or so more than they should be for the quality or lack there of

@Bart Cordell nothing to be sorry about, I learned something and without you and @cheld sharing information I wouldn’t have known at all. Thank you both

The bottom of the diagonal or elbow, this bit. It does seem to be a rounded corner on the genuine inserts shown online. On both these it is a sharp point I bet not many owners of a genuine 70’s 5513 would ever notice if you sneaked in and changed it out at night😂
-
I was only referring to this brother. Both MQ and Ruby’s have a sharp point at the bottom. After @cheld posted this I studied some gen 70s inserts online and they seem to have a very rounded return, the “turn” he is talking about. Not sure it would over bother me personally, but interesting to know

As long as you are a registered member on the other forum, the Mods there are the guys to ask, maybe by PM. They will have your back if it goes south in anyway. There is nothing much we can do to help as he is not a TD here. Multiple windows, it happens, no biggie
