  1. I have never seen an ETA compatible Vietnamese dial and I don’t think it is worth the cost of a Vietnamese dial if you are wanting the ETA date window position. Most people use a DWO for correct Rolex font and position, then cut the dial feet. It is possible with skill and care to notch the ETA baseplate for the feet, which is probably a more elegant solution
  2. Welcome to our community, if you are picky about details, you are in the right place, some of our guys go a long way beyond picky as you will see by some of the build threads. Dont forget to post your own builds and join in any discussions you wish
  3. It comes slowly if you keep trying. I started my watch obsession with vintage Omega as well and at that time I had not even the thought that I might learn how to work on them. Start with cheap watches, even Seiko is good for practice, broken watches, pocket watches, but things of no great value, because you will break things, we all have. Slowly you will learn, then suddenly you will catch yourself competently doing something you never dreamed possible. I am no watchsmith. We have some very, very talented ones here, but I am definitely not one of them, I’m just a guy who enjoys messing about with watches.

I totally agree @cissiboy I haven’t been following this saga anywhere but this thread, so I don’t know too much. However whatever grievances a buyer feels, whatever the rights and wrongs, once a guy takes the watches and keeps the money, he has crossed a line and put himself entirely in the wrong and he knows damn well he has
  5. It ain’t that hard buddy, just takes practice. Read lots of threads like you are doing, get an idea of what can be done and how. Buy a base watch or parts to start a build. Start a build thread, that way you will get lots of advice on techniques and how to do things from more established members. Believe it or not we were all noobs once. Also you have a great supplier in @Athaya right on your doorstep
  6. Take it off the watch, if it has any sharp edges, deal with them, then throw it in Johnson’s baby oil for at least 24 hours.
  7. Maybe you are just sensitive being Dutch. I hadn’t noticed anything that makes me believe all Dutch guys are scammers. We have some great Dutch brothers
  8. I’m not a 100% certain, but I think William (Tiger Concepts)uses his 5513 style mid case for these, it is a homage and not meant to be a rep. Isn’t the crystal mineral glass on these? If he is fitting a plexi that is new. Some difference on the hands! Those pictures will be a very useful reference for future builders, thank you. Any reason you bought the whole watch, just to get the hands?
  9. Solo Inglese per favore 😀👍 Yes there is a slight difference in colour which is only really noticeable when they are side by side in the same light. Some can see it instantly, others not so much
  10. Any of the Trusted Dealers can supply one, have a look through this section:- https://rwg.cc/forum/230-watches-clothing-parts-accessories/
  11. Yes, I’ve been following that one.
  12. Yes it certainly is, I wasn’t being bitchy, just constructive criticism among friends😀 @jackflash is sort of our resident MilSub expert. He might not sell you his watch, but shoot him a PM, he might help you create your own
  13. Thanks for the update, I’m looking forward to seeing how this turns out
  14. WSO on the bay of evil sells a bezel as well for $99 I don’t know how it compares to Yuki, but just for information
  15. I don’t know a lot about the 1655, so I can’t comment much on the best parts. The dial looks fantastic now though and William the owner of Tiger Concepts is a lovely guy. I’ve bought a few watches and parts from him. He will pretty much sell you anything you ask for, just hands, this watch but that dial, nothing seems a problem to him. Other than that, it’s good to see you back at the game again and better to see you on our forum😀👍
  16. Your hour and minute hands are slightly too long, but jeez, I would never notice unless if you hadn’t posted side by side. I wonder what it would cost to commission some proper hands? Anyway a good few gen are now running omega hands. @rm1406Costco? I posted elsewhere today, the only time my Omega got complimented in the real world, the follow up question was “Is it a Fossil?” Actually I said “I don’t think so, it’s just something I picked up secondhand”. It was worth it for the fleeting look of pity😀
  17. The one and only time someone complimented me on my Omega, the follow up question was “is it a Fossil”.
  18. Sometimes you have to wonder about all these guys. The font is spot on, it must have taken a lot of work to get that right, then to screw up the font size, which is such an easy fix? Still it is the best available apart from the limited run of perfect ones a few years ago. IIRC an insert, dial and hands was once for sale right here. Perfect, but an eye watering price
  19. I could live with that Ruby dial, actually a little aging might tone the “T” down just enough. Actually this model is very much a build that has to be good enough not to offend my sensibilities, but not necessarily accurate to the tiniest detail. 99.9% of the population will have no idea what it is and the other 0.1% will be pretty sure that if I am wearing it in public, it isn’t gen
  20. I love your builds @jackflash Two little points, I thought Ingod44 was gone and is there no better option for a second hand? Something about the tip doesn’t quite work for me. Ruby’s dial any good or is it MQ now?
  21. Hmm. Disappointing. Most of the listings on Ali explicitly state Stainless Steel case. On the other hand if you file a claim, you probably get the watch for free😇
  22. Hello Brother, I saw the title and for a moment I thought you had changed the dial. Be a shame to loose the “Perlative Cernometer” I have been thinking of taking a chance on one of these myself, good to know they are actually stainless. Case looks much better now. Perhaps you should worry the crown guards a bit? You know what dial I will be using😜
  23. I was looking a few weeks back, I thought it would be a nice straightforward build. However I found no suitable case unless I was prepared to go undersized and use something like an old David Wong case. I wasn’t
  24. Is it printed with Swiss ink then? If it doesn’t say Shitinerand on the back I’m not interested Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
