I remember that project. So much potential there as here with this one

Rick, this is brilliant. I can’t offer any advice, but I love you for doing this and wish you every success Put me down for one please
-
You will be able to. If you can see, it’s day time. If it is dark, it is night time and that is about all you will need in the coming dystopia😁

I love the retro case and the price😁

https://rwg.cc/forum/230-watches-clothing-parts-accessories/ Some of the links have probably expired, unfortunately dealers don’t always keep them updated. The members here will no doubt give you the current website for any dead links https://trustytime.shop Is as good a dealer as any and his site is always a good place to window shop

I concur. It bothered me more that the case is too thick and the crown is in the wrong place. I guess we each have our own little fixations. I ended up giving my JK5513 away

There seems to be something missing here

What I do know is that the Noob clone movement is really good and the Noob “gold” cases are more accurate in shape the the stainless steel ones. They are slightly different shapes on the genuine Rolex
-
Absolutely my point above. Phong offers some cases the other Vietnam sources currently do not. Ruby’s 1680 is a 5513 case. I go to Phong when I can’t get what I need for half his prices When I first became active here, instead of lurking, I was all into Frankens with genuine movements. Times have changed, prices have changed and the repair parts situation has changed. I followed your advice, a good low beat ETA is where I’m at these days Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Well that kind of fits with my experience. I didn’t originally answer because I have no idea about the 7032. A few years ago I bought a Phong 5508. The case is beautiful. The dial was crap, utter crap and the hands were just the wrong shape. Slowly it has been rebuilt. Now I only buy cases from Phong and only for models I can’t get elsewhere. I do like his cases Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Rolex Sub Replica | Crown won't screw in...
Sogeha replied to Dedsec's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Lots of magnification and you should be able to see the jagged edge The crown is the female part and screws over the tube, so unless the tube extends passed the outside of the case, it can’t screw on and the tube must be broken- 10 replies

Rolex Sub Replica | Crown won't screw in...
Sogeha replied to Dedsec's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Looks to me as if it has broken off and is indeed stuck in the crown. It can still be fixed. I’m not sure about getting the end out of the crown, so maybe get a new crown as well- 10 replies

Rolex Sub Replica | Crown won't screw in...
Sogeha replied to Dedsec's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
I'm just a hobbyist watch mangler, not a Watch Smith in any sense. I have done this and the way I did it was to decase the movement. Apply heat to the case to soften any glue, then using a fine rat tail file jammed down the tube, I managed to unscrew the old one. Depending on which rep you have there is a reasonable chance the threads are the same as Rolex, so a generic tube from any watch parts supply house, essingler, cousins etc. should do the job. A dab of locktite and job done. Others with more knowledge might give better or more detailed advice. At least that gives you some indication of the work involved and that it is not the end o the world, so you can decide to DIY or send it for repair Oh, I believe some are just push fit as well. I’ve not done one of those, but I believe you just find something to drift it from inside the case- 10 replies

God no, any fool can do it. It’s more about sending a few bottles to the Mods ivory tower to ensure you get set up with a section to advertise from. Send enough and @Nanuq will let you have some Alaskan whale blubber for those Miyota rotors

It’s resurrection day! Next thing you know Ubi will be dropping by. I love it when guys wander back home again

Welcome back mate https://trustytime.shop Is the rabbit you need to follow 1680, not so much. Cartel which has many faults and depends what you can live with then Phong, which really just has one fault😂 16610 JF is about as good as anyone ever really needs. The clone movements have got better recently, but probably will still need a decent modder watchsmith to give it a quick spray of WD40 and a sharp smack on the side of the desk at some point

I wouldn’t think it is reason for concern. The whole world is in a mess right now and there’s aren’t many ‘planes flying -
Explorer case from ebay (raffles?) water resistant?
Sogeha replied to peterhorstmann's topic in The Rolex Area
I have one. It’s a nice case, but not a very accurate copy of an Explorer 1. I used mine for a project not dissimilar to yours and it doesn’t matter about being accurate for that Unfortunately Covid19 means I won’t be able to access it any time soon to take photo’s -

Sogeha replied to peterhorstmann's topic in The Rolex Area
Unless there are serious manufacturing defects, waterproofing is largely a matter of decent gaskets and o rings, properly fitted and greased. Once you have that and obviously a properly seated crystal, you should be good. A lot of watch shops will pressure test a watch for a small fee -
Please tell me about your “genuine” quartz Submariner i have this very none genuine $20 POS and I really like it, it always makes me smile and I wear it for gardening

I’m glad it is resolved, as to what is causing these issues, who knows. There could be a legitimate reason caused by the disruption of covid19 or the banks could just be taking the opportunity to hang on to money as long as possible. I have very little trust for banks Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

We are currently living in extraordinary times, I doubt Ryan is the issue here I ordered a new ‘phone two weeks ago, with 24 hour delivery and tracking. The tracking number still only shows it was posted and I can find nothing else out Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
