  1. Your right of course, my sea cucumber may be drunk...
  2. I'll expand to say it appears the bezel had the :09 marker set at :56 when it was hit at that spot, mostly on the crystal, by a round .177 cal projectile fired from Daisy Model 1938 "Red Ryder" reproduction. The cyclops (date mag) appears to be ARd. The date wheel appears discolored to a tan gold, most likely due to being exposed to the elements by the missing crown. The 3 showing is a flat top. The end pieces on the bracelet are a poor fit width-wise, but correct length for the case, the top one being crushed. The bezel insert is not great, the bezel looks to be plated, and flaking. The dial print is crowded and fat, too much kerning on oversized fonts (lacking correct serifs) to fit. The crown guards are odd. The case bevel is off. The coronet is nice.
  3. You'll note that the 72 was a true ébauche use by ROLEX. Not only are the balance different, but the unworked plate & bridges were finished and marked by ROLEX, and the wheels used by ROLEX are not simple brass, note the color differences on a genuine 72X.

    Catastrophe!

I think Clark's used to, and possibly still does, make something close to both T-39 profiles. Original and "flat" service domes. So make sure you get the right one.
  5. Didn't last as long as one of Ken's ball-er frog skin coin purses. He's not even a good rep of a fantasy bag.
  6. Whoooooweee! did he squeak when I poked at him. Just for the record, I don't have any reps. My name is Rob, and I am a vintage WIS.

    Rep or Gen

Thanks for coming back with a couple of speculations after a couple more irrelevant posts and studying up a little to almost sound like you know what you are talking about. Enjoy the next reincarnation... Karma lingers, eh?
  9. Those that misspell an abbreviation are likely to pronounce it wrong as well. Enjoy that real thing when you find it.
  10. How many dealers have you compared by purchasing from? The sum total of your contributions here seem to be rather limited to slagging off Andrew, because you bought three in a row from him with rather uninformed expectations, and a couple of commiseration posts to, or about, persons which you have had no obvious other interaction with. So, are you just a miserable noob that can't get past a couple of transactions that didn't meet your expectations? Or are you a leech that just sucks info from the board and contributing only a consistent stream of [censored] (on Andrew) in return? Your posts that aren't about "Andrew at trusty time is the worst dealer there is..." can be counted on a incompetent shop teacher's mangled left hand.
  11. FWIW Red is the first color you loose sensitivity to in low light conditions, like diving. Which is why the red triangle on Sub bezels went away really quick.
  12. Yes. And apropos, as I believe Ken used to sell SMALL CHANGE purses made of genuine FROG skin.
  13. Synchrony, CiT, GE and Ing are paying 1% on simple savings, and the national average right now is .6%, so, MOST banks are paying more than .25% Mr. MoneyBags. Then again, no savings account ever keeps up with inflation, and your account of making $500 on a $6000 watch is falling behind almost as quickly as stuffing cash in matress. Fortunately for most watches with real collector value appreciate far quicker than inflation, and your assumptions are incorrect. It just takes knowledge of the market and correct anticipation of the trends. Anyone buying up cheap vintage Tudor watches 10 years ago will have seen their average price go from under $600 to over $6000, with some examples well over $12,000. Buying new Rolex is not a real investment at it's inflated price unless you are going to keep it for 40 years, and people still think they are cool then. Seems you have still have trouble with reps, trouble with knowing what is actually happening around you, trouble using simple quotes, and trouble fitting in. How are those used Rolex, tired Vette, and tiny sized Harley D "investments" doing by the way? I'm sure your nephew will enjoy selling them, or running them into the ground when you are gone. Try not to be as condescending and insulting as your previous incarnation and you may get to stick around a little longer.
  14. I'd say not only play and shifting in the plates but loose pantograph hinge pins as well. And you'll note how on some letters they seem to finish with a swing where the stylus wasn't completely lifted away from the case on watches from the 50s and early 60s.
