Hmm, my quickset date worked before I upgraded the date wheel, it seems odd that the date change at midnight works flawlessly, but the quickset doesn’t work.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey guys! First of all I hope you had a very merry Christmas and are enjoying some much needed time off work. I have a question on the 3135 movement which I’m hoping is an easy question for the collective minds of the community... I replaced the date wheel and dial on my JF 16610 LV, I made sure the hands were replaced so that the date flips round at midnight, the date change at midnight is extremely crisp and snaps into place. THE ISSUE: When I try to use the quickset function for the date (extract crown one click then turn crown to quickset date), it does not work. The date wheel moves a little as if it were going to change, but then something in the movement slips and it drops back to the same date. Can anyone help me narrow down the problem? So I can open her up again and fix it. A couple of photos; The replacement date wheel from WSO has much crisper font, whereas the JF stock date wheel has fat font. What a beauty! JF 16610LV vs. Gen early 16610 (orginally thought a 16800)

Well you see that groove under the bezel, I believe that's a groove for a gasket, the size is 32mm x approx 0.7mm. I've ordered the gasket and with some silicone it should provide a tighter fit and improved waterproofing. The case back and screw down crown will be fine and this bezel gasket should make a difference. I'll eventually get mine pressure tested, but I don't have a wet pressure tank yet, it's on my shopping list. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Yes I can confirm the crystal did pop off when I took the bezel off. The way I prevented this was to take a cloth and apply two finger pressure on the cyclops, then slide the case knife partially under the bezel and carefully remove it; the cyclops stayed in place. Here's some photos of when the crystal pops off; Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Compared to the 1989 L series in the original photos in this thread, the rehaut does seem a tiny bit 'shallow', however when compared to modern gens in the other threads on this the rehaut seems perfectly fine. Quite a few gen owners have agreed on this point in the various threads. By the way the TC is not readily available, TC is on hiatus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Yes it does, thanks mate. Sorry for the confusion, it was the "SWISS-T 25" dial text that had me on the wrong path. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

So, new development, I managed to persuade the owner to let me remove the bracelet to check the model and serial numbers. It's a 16610 L series from 1989, it is not a 16800. My apologies for the mistake and thank you to the super sleuths who provided the queries. I will see if I can change the thread title. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk One interesting fact about the watch, is that it no longer has any lume whatsoever. The original substance for the lume had a half-life of 15 years and as such is now depleted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

The movement flips the date by rotating the crown clockwise. Does this mean it has the 3135 movement? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I'll be able to check the movement on Monday by the crown height, but I won't be opening his case [emoji5]. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
