All the red dot means is that the watch hasn't been opened... if the watch was purchased used and checked for WR yearly (if used for swimming, diving, etc) or if the watch was serviced- you're not going to see the dot. Just a little FYI because I've seen people call out Omega's before based on not having the "Globe" hallmark or red dot.
And PS- I don't think it'd be THAT tough to replicate the dot if you really wanted to...best way to check is to bring it to an AD and ask them to check that the movement serial matches the serial on the lug closest to 7 O'Clock.
I can't remember but I'm sure someone will chime in with the expert answer...can you also adjust TPD (Turns Per Day) as you'll need to hit the correct TPD number in order to keep the watch wound (but you don't want to go way over). Orbita has a handy guide on their page.
My dad's company leases him an XJ... great car... I remember it had an issue with a faulty abs sensor or something but it was a quick fix... his '05 Audi had many more issues... Drives great...suspension is a tad on the softer side but the upgraded electronics package, etc are pretty good... the newest model's sound system is also amazing.
As Pugwash and others said very eloquently in other threads... It's probably a terrible idea to purchase anything that has a gen counterpart built to adhere to health/emission standards.
Exactly... take the "old factory" SMP for example...proper HE valve, etc. What happens to the factory? Shut down.
Now...the new factory makes one with an incorrect HE valve, shitty sapphire crystal and dodgy quality (generally screwed link) bracelet. Funny how that works out....
I'd say buy cases and generic Asian clone etas or the seagull version of the 2892 and just get blank dials to do yourself/have sent out and done. Better still, pick up a vintage Rado automatic cheap on the bay ($100) and have a custom dial made...
OT but Ball makes watches with a tritium-illuminated date wheel.
That lume looks spectacular Lani / Z... can't wait to see it when its charged (Actually Lani, you might not even need pictures...I may very well be able to see the blue glow over the hills to the West!!)
I see good things in Bossart's future! Thanks for taking the time to reply to that short list of questions - you saved me the trouble of typing it out!
Seriously though, just take it slow, do your homework, and you'll eliminate 99% of the potential pitfalls when dealing with reps.
Write down a trusted member's email address on a notepad, conspicuously placed, that reads "blahblahblah@blahblah.com" with "Google result- email this guy for best watches!" like you were looking yourself.
Once she makes contact with whomever, that member will PM YOU for a top 3 list and attempt to "steer" her in the right direction
Agreed...I don't see those pussies over here and I like it that way. This is really getting old...if stupid people want to continue to promote equally untalented modders...go for it. Please, please, please...stop throwing around insults like a bunch of little girls in middle school. Put up or shut the F up. Jealousy is so ugly...if you think you can do better, great! Show your talents through your work and stop the teenage pissing matches.
Asshats.
It'll probably only take one guess for most members to figure out the offending forum too..
From your other post....
Search. We're annoyed BECAUSE we took the time to search and buy and write these reviews/comment on them and you're too lazy to do it.
