  1. I wrote up a small thing on oiling Rolex bracelets...mineral oil is great but I've used sewing machine oil to the same degree of effectiveness.
  2. If only.... I'm sure that'd violate a few amendments though.
  3. I'm NOT an Ingy fan. At all. Hate them in fact... I think just about anything else from IWC would be better than an Ingy but yes, IWC is quite understated/refined. Rolex SS Datejust w/ Rhodium dial or in black, Glashutte Senator Sixties, Omega Speedmaster, Omega Constellation, Omega SMP, TAG Carrera of some sort... all these are fairly "understated" and get the point across without being "In your face"... The speedmaster and SMP are extremely versatile and the DJ is a classic
  4. I'm not a fan of either brand but I'd say pick the TAG...more iconic and classy IMHO... you might also consider the Aquaracer
  5. That is why he is one million years old
  6. Wow...loving these collaborative reviews and what a stunning watch! The photos capture it perfectly and the reviews leave no stone unturned! Bravo!!
  7. Love the coloring of the steel....simply stunning how far reps have come.
  8. Very nice...quick sale considering they just came out!
  9. Quality wise...don't hold your breath... If you see something you like though...negotiate it and have fun!
  10. The ETA clone is generally higher quality than the standard 21J Asian movement... the Seagull 2892 clone is pretty awesome though...
  11. Gotta give 'em credit for trying...
  12. Wow... very nice! Thanks for this comprehensive guide!!!
  13. Beautiful...I thought there'd be vodka
  14. Interesting...thanks!
  15. And the next step in the evolution of rep movements begins!
  16. Franken with a 552 movement (although the difference in color of the rotor/bridges could be a franken movement...or discolouration due to poor servicing)
  17. Very nice! Great experience and some excellent photos!
  18. Cool...thanks!
  19. @MVB- Ah very interesting...thanks for the quick reply!!!
  20. www.watchdoctor.biz He went to the Bulova School of Watchmaking in NYC and specializes in vintage Accutrons... prices are very, very reasonable and he's worked on a number of my vintages and even one of my 90's DateJusts with no issues...
  21. Out of curiousity, with or without the gen caseback?
  22. Wise words...I've seen this model for sale once over at RWI...
  23. Worth it? Yeah it is... And since it's based of the 2892 you'd need a spacer for the cartel cases unless you ordered an older version with a 2892 in it... $366 is an awesome price for that assortment... it's running to almost the same specs as my 1120s...
  24. I like the choices Pho!
