  1. I can understand V being deactivated...I mean...he contributes nothing right? I got it too.
  2. So...once again...those rep factories are in fact making them more accurate than we think. Their first few hundred were installed straight...and not 1:1 as per original...so the latest edition fixed that.
  3. Mine wasn't great...especially that heavy part on the rotating bezel...but when you get a fresh charge...it still does glow.
  4. Savour the flavour Boss Man...that's a fine piece. Thanks for the review.
  5. Great as always Lani...awesome looking watch...great pics.
  6. My '06 from Silix rocks. Here's my review:
  7. Good question. I guess the best comparison would be to do a side by side with a proper Noob or gen. Surely Tribal must have one or the other kicking around.
  8. Nice post and pics. I do want this one. I guess we'll have to see what the poop is on the movement.
  9. I've seen vintage Vacheron Constantin's going for that range believe it or not. Vintage watches I think are a neat idea...when they are older than 40 years...it's no longer considered cheap and used!
  10. Yup. If you've collected that many reps...it's certain that you have gained much knowledge from the forum and are in a good position to give back. Welcome aboard.
  11. You can try running the watch continuously (no chronos) for a few days first...then start the chronos, and then let it run continuously without stopping the chronos (this might mean wearing it to sleep...but it should last overnight with the power reserve)...then try the pushers again. Sometimes the movements take over 1 week to settle down...but like you said, it sounds like a pusher issue. Is the pusher actually clicking when you click it to stop the chrono??
  12. Yup. I think "Rolexaddict" might actually be a "Crackaddict". It appears to be bad manners, but it could have been done very tongue in cheek...after all, they did use smilies. On another note...I am eagerly awaiting the Lani review...always a treat to read from the man who's first out of the blocks. I call Lanikai the Chuck Yeager of the rep world...first to pull the trigger and sit in the driver's seat.
  13. If you are looking for the most accurate out of the box...that is one thing. If you are looking for the one that COULD be made the most accurate with a lot of mods...that's another thing. For me...I just like this inaccurate vintage 6263...well...because of the acrylic tach ring. I can't seem to find the post where this was discussed (the accuracies/inaccuracies and the love of the basic design anyways). To those who are wondering...the sore points are: Symmetrical chrono pushers (gen has asymmetrical) Printing of the ROLEX and other text is too large Frozon subdial at 6 (good thing as it makes it more reliable...but bad because it's not as accurate)
  14. The Spitfire's can be very good I thought. The caseback is off on the 3717-02/05, but other than that...pretty darned close. Only a WIS would notice things like hand length being off by <1mm, or running seconds hand being the same size as the other subdials. My review is here:
  15. If you know what to look for, the two are NOT indistinguishable. The ceramic has a sheen/polish to it that can't be replicated easily with a substitute. $400 is a high pricepoint. Rats!
  16. Go SD4K...I knew you could raise the bar even further...bring it on!!
  17. Does anybody have a clue of the case size is even close, or if they are using the standard sub case? It doesn't look like the standard sub case from what I can tell, with the thick CGs...
  18. Hi Tom, That stinks. I was thinking the misaligned rotating bezel is something that CAN'T be fixed unless they redo the die that made the bezel. If you search around and read reviews of the CD's...it's a common complaint. The dust or dirtiness on the dial is another common complaint...but your is bad. Really bad. The misaligned second hand I'm not so sure about. I have sent a few watches back from Canada...once by courier...and once by standard post...marked the package as instructed by the collector, and did not have any problems. If you are handy with de-casing, and have some Rodico...that will clear up the dirtiness problem. the second hand misalignment I'm not sure on. Doing the Rodico job yourself will save you much hassle...but it may screw things up worse if don't know what you're doing on the stem removal and reinsertion. My recent CD '06 version only had the bezel misalignment and not the other issues. I'm sorry to hear that.
  19. AWESOME...thanks for the heads up...I have to do more cross-forum reading!!
  20. Big Congrats!! Baby arrival is fun. I hope you are able to take lots of time off...I can't recommend that enough!!
  21. Funny that you should post that...you should check out By-Tor's uber-GMT: By-Tor's finished product You can compare everything... Nice piece BTW.
  22. Makes sense...KY boys would know for sure.
  23. Yup...when only a couple horses show up for the challenge based on your killing in the previous race...you're in a pretty good position!!
