  1. The Ocean Racer with deployment is available in the gen world for both the 24 and 22mm lug sizes (SOH and SOSF/Seawolf respectively). The rep world only has the OR in the 24mm size...HOWEVER, the OR deployment is the same size, so people on the forum have successfully ordered 22mm rubber pieces from an AD (or this forum from private members selling theirs), AND the 24mm OR strap and used the buckle on the gen, smaller rubber pieces.
  2. From the RCMP: "5. If I contact the police or the company because I think I
  3. I bought cheap arms and the Bergeon 29.50 die and it fits fine on the Subs, Sea Dweller and I used a smaller die on my mid-sized DJ. The arms didn't quite fit the die properly, so I ground out the die slot for better fit.
  4. ...and your credit card will soon learn too...then your family and girlfriend/wife/partner criticize you for buying so many watches...so you have to stop...stop buying just for yourself that is...and you buy them watches as gifts...and it goes on and on and on. WHEN you realize the wealth of information on the forum, and the source of good times that it is, I trust you will be compelled to upgrade your membership to a supporter subscription to keep the forum alive!! Enjoy the ride.
  5. Date change limitations apply to all 7750 movements (gen and Asian).
  6. Hopefully you ordered the Noobmariner...best of the bunch for the price. F520117 serial #. There are better...but significantly more money. I have one...stopped wearing it opting for the SSD instead. The Sub is great though...
  7. You say that now...but the Skyland, Skyland Blacksteel V2 with the DLC coating, Seawolf, Blackbird...all beautiful reps. Then...the other brands kick in...read the reviews in all the different forum areas, and you'll see how your interests expand 10-fold!!
  8. The graphite treatment has been known to revive a dud running secs @ 6. Good luck.
  9. The guy lives in the same city as me it appears...I have to go easy on him. As chrgod said, if you want to "hit and run shop" (ie. just get 1 watch in good quality and that's it for an interest in watches)...choose any dealer from the dealer list in the links section at the top and you'll be fine.
  10. From China! :) Welcome to RWG, the most knowledgeable WATCH forum around, filled with the best folks you'll meet. The question you ask is not so easy to answer as it needs many more questions answered first to give you the answer you need. Namely: Which Breitling model? Where do you live? Can you do watch modifications or do you want best out of the box? What kind of flaws can you live with (as all have flaws)? How much are you willing to pay? What kind of reliability expectations do you have? Etc, etc. The most accurate reps for Breitlings have either an A7750 movement (standard chrono) but can be difficult to service if you can't find somebody locally willing and knowledgeable to work on chrono movements, and particularly an Asian 7750...or possibly an ETA 2836 or 2824. The 2836/2824 can be worked on by most any watchmaker and is your easiest solution to a reliable and easily serviced rep...but no stopwatch function. Who to buy from? Depends on where you are located. ALL dealers recommended here have issues. You have to decide which ones you are willing to deal with. Read the reviews and member posts and you'll see people have their favourites...but person "A's" fave, maybe the thorn in the side for person "B"...let your research guide you. Lots of questions to have your expectations met properly. Start reading my Noob Guide linked in my signature to hit the ground running. Read. Search. Learn. Share. Welcome to the journey...
  11. I change my suggestion. I agree with everyone here. You must buy all of them.
  12. Canada rules for the rep world. Very little worries or concerns. Some have had issues...but their numbers are low. Order from one of our dealers here, and they will re-ship if seized by Customs...which it won't be. Read the Noob Guide linked in my signature for an introduction to the rep world, links to posts on the legality of owning replicas, and other answers to questions you didn't even know you had. Welcome to the forum. Read. Search. Learn. Share. Hopefully you'll find the information so awesome, and the people so great that you'll want to upgrade your membership to a supporting paid subscription to ensure the forum stays alive. I'm from Toronto BTW...as are a number of senior and junior members.
  13. The Exp II is quite a nice piece. One thing to consider with all the pieces being considered, is the size. You've got quite a range here with the Patek at around 36mm, DJ around 38mm, the Exp II at 40mm, the Discovery at 44.5mm. The size really makes these pieces quite different. I would recommend you figure out what kind of piece you feel you need in your collection and not just the design of the watch...as some designs look fantastic but when you see the scale of the watch it can ruin it for you. The Oris line is like this for me...beautiful dials and case from the top view, but their thickness and roundness in the height axis ruin them for me. If you want something that feels beefy...the Discovery is the way to go...elegant the Patek is more the way to go but I'm not a big fan of the design of the Nautilus. The DJ and Exp II are both great all 'rounders...but find myself not wearing my DJ and Sub all that much given me leaning towards big chunky things more these days. Don't forget the IWC Spitfire!! I have a review in my sig.
  14. Those are great. I've said before and I'll say it again...love your avatar. Makes me laugh everytime I look at it.
  15. The nice thing that you have is, that you can at least taste your dream on occasion by visiting your sister in-law or visiting the lands you long for. You can get recharged and motivated by touching a piece of that when you need to. That is truly a privilege.
  16. It's a simple search engine...and doesn't handle multiple keywords very well. So, here are some simple rules: There is a simple search and an advanced search called "More search options"...choose the right one Be sure to check/uncheck the "Search This Forum Only" option...by default it's checked...so if your'e in the Introductions forum, searching for Omega Hour Vision there might not yield too many hits If one search string doesn't work...try more general (e.g. Omega...then Omega Deville...then Omega Deville Hour) Try different variants: Deville, De Ville, De Vile, etc Flip through a few of the return threads to see if there are keywords that make the post unique...and do another search on that keyword Using the "More search options" try searching only in the topic title Eventually you'll learn about certain key members and their posts (e.g. Lanikai) and if you search for "Macro" posts with Lanikai as the author, you'll get a specialized return Hopefully these tips help.
  17. I'm no watchmaker...but I've read numerous posts of the following parts having difficult supply: For sure the Reversing Wheel being #1...Watchdog also mentioned having to machine down a gen ETA ratchet driving wheel (1482)...and has also mentioned a dry up of his supply of the transfer gear between the mainspring winding gear and the autowinder gears. This isn't the same as the reversing wheel is it??
  18. True enough. I tell you ...these manufacturers and their proprietary movements. They cause so many problems for the rep world.
  19. Your Big Ingy on the croc is one of my faves...stunning!!
  20. Good thing you just happened to be climbing up the North Face solo to catch the plane and hold it up Nanuq!!
  21. That's awesome...good stuff. I was thinking of changing my Tagline to: Keep Shundi's Avatar (...oh and RWG too) Running...Go Platinum!!
  22. I would consider possibly a Tag Carrera. They have various white dial variants similar to the panda Discovery, or the Tag Aquaracer. I like the 2008 model with the orange hands...but that's me. The Mont Blanc Sport Chrono is 42mm and pretty nice as well: The Zenith Open Chrono is not overly accurate mainly because of the movement...but beautiful nonetheless...but a bit small at 40.5mm: The retro Speedmaster Date is small at 40.5mm but is really a striking piece in person. Check out the gen at an AD to really get a feel for this thing: Good luck on the decision. There's lots of fun stuff out there.
  23. Agreed. Looks beautiful. I think the OP was talking about the BTR though...given the question on the new movement. I haven't heard any solid news on an Ebel coming out with the new tricompax layout movement though. The only reps using the new movement are the PO Chrono, and coming soon the Constellation Mission Hills (announced in prototype display, but not released). Who knows what else is coming. I can't imagine they would stick to Omegas though...but they might given the popularity of the Speedies.
  24. Somebody posted the video...can't remember what to look under. Try searching for dg4813 and dg2813 on youtube. I don't have access to YT at work. Another thread of interest is here: High Beat vs. Low Beat
