Unfortunately, there are no high accuracy reps of this brand around. However, there are some nice fantasy's that can be had for a pretty low price that are beautiful watches in and of themselves...just not high accuracy replicas.

The panda dial is great. I have the racing black one with the red hands on its way. Another consideration might be the new day date one which is slightly larger...busier dial which you may or may not like.

The wings should be straight. The anchor on the rep generally is closer to the 12 than on the gen. Check the comparisons between rep and gen on SD4K's review. You can also look for pics using search in the wristies.

That's the big difference. There are aftermarket casebacks and all sorts of stuff...but only 3 known ones, with display backs issued by Rolex itself.

BTW...it's made in China...don't take it to European for servicing.

If it's 40mm with that subdial spacing, that's not the reduced. The issue is whether he's measuring it right. I thought it was the reduced too...but not sure. Check the clown feet on the logo...I think it should have the happy feet...but be pretty thin. The reduced should be about 35-36mm...and the caseback looks right though and should have the serial number below the sea monster.

Welcome aboard. The 3717 is a definite classic. We don't see too many Orfina's on board here...but we have a great Tag Heur Carrera rep along that lines. Have fun here...you found the best watch forum around.

Another option is to buy another movement for around $135 CDN (I don't know other prices...this is what I can get them for), and swap it in. Any watchmaker can do a straight movement swap. The issue is, that the A7750s traditionally come dry and dirty in the reps...and I don't know if this is also the case for one "brand new" imported to North America as well (but would think it would be a safe assumption). A swap would cost $100 so unless you do it yourself...it might not be all that worthwhile. Most people don't use their chronos. I do though.

Full servicing should cost USD $200 or so depending on who's doing it...plus parts. If you have to get some gen ETA parts, it might add on another $20-50.

It went for a huge price too, as it included the letter between Rolex and the client. Wales of University of South Africa ordered from Rolex on 7th of March, 1962. It is not only custom-made but also with transparent back which is quite rare in the history of Rolex. Of all the Rolex products, apart from two oysters with manual winding movement and transparent back in 1940's, this is the third transparent product recognized by the factory. Maybe at that time, Rolex was not so missish and could accept such special custom-made products. The more precious thing for this GMT is that the letters between the factory at that time and the professor are being kept, telling the cause and effect of this custom-made product, so it is called Rolex with stories. The purchase price also reflects the popularity of this treasure. I think although it is furious, but not enough. If it is on auction again several years later, the price maybe several times higher. So extrememly rare...but not unheard of.

You're going to have lots of questions...and the odds are good, the forum has way more answers and different experiences to share across the various posts. Great stuff. I was going to say you're screwed...because she's going to be adding something to the stables at $10K per year. What kind of bikes are you riding? I'm the say way...bikes worth more than cars...and these days I'm walking to work and never get to ride even for commuting.

The lume on Tags is generally not all the exciting...so fewer people are motivated to do it. I have a Carrera coming in, and think I will pass on it, as it's just the fill in the baton markers and the hands...nothing like the amount of lume applied on a sausage dial, or even the look of lume pools in a sandwich dial. My IWC Aquatimer is of course, the ultimate lume job (it's the blue lume job in the middle of The Zigmeister's signature). As well, PAMs generally cost about 2x or more than the Tags, and there are generally more things out of the box wrong with them: floppy levers, too thin/thick crowns, low cannon pinion, wrong Tritium/SL markings on dial, wrong A's, etc that really throw zealots in a knot. People who want a Pam are willing to pay more for a watch that lists at $7,000 than a Tag that lists at $3,000. The high end reps of the Aquaracer and Carrera are considered excellent out of the box...and not requiring many mods, so I think more people are willing to leave things as is.
