It's interesting. Even though I have no "real" frankens, I have found that describing the tinkering, the modding, etc has really opened doors to talking about watches with people...being very up front about the reps. I have found people to be quite fascinated about them, after you are able to represent them as more than just a NYC fake LV handbag...but something with history behind it, eye for detail, etc.
Welcome aboard. Read the Noob Guide linked in my signature and you'll hit the ground running. If you want some fun oversized bling, check out the TT Breitling Montbrillant Legende.
EXACTLY!!! As much as I have fun pointing them out...even flaws which Rolex buffs consider HUGE and deal breaking like crown guard shape, I think are really quite minor. As a whole, watches like the Ebel and the AT are really quite something, and leagues better than something like Timex Ironman (which has it's purpose as well of course)
It won't be a big deal. I was looking at the gen in person, and the pics exaggerate things. The shield on the dial is probably 4mm across...making the "G" 2mm maybe??? It's not noticeable. 90% of the people I know have a hard time reading the hash marks on the chapter ring and the tach bezel...let alone discerning differences on a 2mm letter G without magnification.
It's the same thing. There are only 3 dial variants: black, brown and "silver" (aka white). I initially thought the design was too crowded...but when you see it in person, the 2mm larger diameter does make the "crowding" work better.
It's a beautiful watch.
You're having too much for this. You do realize that is the special Time Travel Edition. You can set time to stand still (note date)...fantastic innovation. I was going to buy one...but I was too afraid of the POWER!!!
That thing is AWESOME. Does anybody know if there are reviews of it? How close is to the gen? Is that dealer the one who has the best model? Will the diamonds lose their sparkle over time?
Will it go with my gold-capped teeth, and my purple fur-lined white Cadillac?
