  1. Check out this thread: Corum Golden Bridge for Birdman's pic and discussion that includes the following pseudo-skeleton:
  2. I've tried the gen on of the Xtreme Open El Primero...and I can't say it was my cup of tea. It's big...like 46.5mm...but the shape and curves make it seem bigger...maybe because the crown unit sticks out a bit. It's light because it's Ti. There will never be a good version of the Zenith Defy Xtreme Zero-G Watch...so don't wait for that one. If you like the design of these...I would suggest looking at possibly the AP T3s or the AP ROO Rubens Barrichello or possibly an RG Concord C1...those are all good quality reps with a similar style...or even the Hublot HBBs in the stealth models.
  3. If it's EMS tracking...it only gets updated 1/day as far as I understand it. You can try plugging the number in your local carrier's tracking site. In Canada, once it goes to Customs it shows up on the national carrier's website, and gets updated faster than EMS. Good luck and keep us posted. Glad to hear the other reps arrived without incident.
  4. yeah...I had that happen my first 2 reps and thought that was the norm. WRONG!!! Either way...if it does get seized...your dealer will straighten it out. I've had stuff take 7 days to close to 3 MONTHS to come to Canada. Yikes. The issue is, the dealer can't re-ship to you UNTIL they either get the return from customs, or notification and confirmation of seizure...but delays can happen and are routine...so don't worry about it for another 2 weeks...really!! It seems long...but hey...buy some lottery tickets so you build up even more anxiety to keep things interesting.
  5. Welcome to RWG. I'll tell you now...that if the dealers recommended here don't have the model you're looking for...and you see another site on the web that does have one that looks perfect...the other site is a scam site showing a genuine picture and NOT what you'll actually get after you pay them. The dealers here deal directly with the high end factories. 99% of the time, if they can't get it in a high end version...it's not worth getting. There is a great looking Zenith Open...not quite accurate...but beautiful nonetheless...not in the same style as the Defy series at all though. It's been reviewed here.
  6. Hey Black Lab Chad. You just lucked into the most knowledgeable watch forum around...and the fact that it's got the best interface of any forum around...and the coolest folks are just icing on the top. Read the Noob Guide linked in my signature. It will help you get started on your rep journey and will answer a lot of the questions you're likely to have starting out, and even later on in your rep exploration. Now is a great time for quality reps...so enjoy the reviews, have fun...Read, Search, Learn and Share!! If you find the information useful here...there's a raffle going on for $4 ticket for an Omega Planet Ocean chrono. The watch is a bonus...the real payback is in supporting the forum. Cheers.
  7. As The Zigmeister said...keep those hands warm and sit on them. Customs clearance is SOP (Standard Operating Procedure)...and can very greatly in terms of time. Sit back...wait...that's the annoying part of the rep game.
  8. Exactly like Timeshare says...be patient...keep your eyes open. You never know what you'll find. People have scored amazing deals and finds here...so anything is possible.
  9. Thanks for the answer The Zigmeister. If you're like me...everything looks easy and doable when you have no clue what you're doing...but in the words of an old friend: If the world was left in my hands...Damn those square wheels!
  10. Congrats on the purchase. It's a great looking watch...and the OR strap is fantastic. I pass through London, ON a lot...but am a TO boy. Thanks for upgrading to supporter. Be sure to enter the raffle for the PO Chrono!!
  11. Aaah...but in this case, no modding is necessary unless you find the AR isn't as good as Chief's. Nice collection...and very versatile indeed.
  12. Stems are cheap and it's an easy repair. You just have to heat the crown likely to unscrew the stem as it is likely glued on after being screwed in. Any watchmaker or repair stall should have a spare stem for an ETA 2824 movement.
  13. BTW...given the free information you're getting here from the forum...why not go for a free watch? For those who aren't supporters yet, upgrading your membership for only a few bucks a month helps keep the forum alive which you will want after you read the quality of info here...AND, if you act now...you get a free $4 raffle ticket which is worth more than the month fee anyways (I think...don't quote me on that). 15. To be honest...I'm not a big fan of either the baton or the dot SAs. I really liked the old arabic numberal models the best. This one to me seems all wonky with the proportions. With the "white space" (black in this dial pic) offered by having small lume dots, and the subdial size...it makes it seem like the case is big but everything else is the wrong proportion inside. But that's me. Either way...the SA size was too large for me.
  16. Yup. Tourby's are expensive. You generally won't find a top brand tourby for < $150,000...well you can for about $135,000 or so...but they go up from there depending on the complications added.
  17. Beautiful strap...and a great gesture for a someone else who is an outrageous asset to the community.
  18. You got it...and it supports the forum...and like any rep buying...the anticipation is half the fun. You never know when you'll need a piece to help you feel brutish...keep it in reserve!!
  19. I know this isn't quite what you're looking for, but in case you never saw this thread it may be worth a read for options: UTC Franken Bracelet
  20. I answer a lot of Noob posts being as welcoming as I can knowing full well that much of what I answer has been asked before and answered many times...but also realizing that a lot of people coming here may be new to forums, watches, etc...and can be a bit flustered with the volume of information and how to get what they want. Something I've always taken to heart, and found in Lani's signature (paraphrasing badly) has been the idea that we need to support new members through the initial bumps, as they really are the future of RWG. If ever anyone has doubted what a few minutes answering questions can do...read the following thread: Agrippa's First Post Agrippa came to the forum with only a passing fancy in watches...fully admitting this...and fully admitting he intended to be a "hit and run" forum member. BUT, after seeing the blood that makes the forum thanks in big part I'm sure to Maxman, Greg_r and others...the man upgraded to PLATINUM before he's even ordered his first watch. Why? In his words: "...this place has to be worth a tenner a month simply because of all the cool and friendly people who hang out here. " So...before you copy and paste the "USE THE SEARCH BUTTON NOOB" line in your reply to the next question...think about what a few minutes of typing can do to help keep the forum welcoming, alive and supported!! For those who aren't supporters yet, for only a few bucks a month...it helps keep the forum alive which you will want after you read the quality of info here...AND, if you act now...you get a free $4 raffle ticket which is worth more than the month fee anyways (I think...don't quote me on that). 21. Ditto what Maxman said. Read the Noob Guide linked in my Signature...it has info on ordering to the EU. Confiscations appear to be fairly common...so order from an EU shipping dealer. The links to dealers are in the Noob Guide. As a Noob...you should upgrade your membership to Supporter like Maxman. For only a few bucks a month...it helps keep the forum alive which you will want after you read the quality of info here...AND, if you act now...you get a free $4 raffle ticket which is worth more than the month fee anywas (I think...don't quote me on that). 22. Hey there. I'm no expert on this model...but in the BT guide, there is the Omega Seamaster Pro GMT black dial which I think you already know about: BUT...in the guide there is a reference of the White model: I don't know if I would use the link in the white model to buy from. BT bought his from Wackobirdkeeper (a dealer on RWI)...and it's reviewed HERE. The difference between white/black should be the datewheel and the bezel insert doesn't have the pattern switch on the white dial that the black does (I don't know what is more accurate)...but the other flaws to look for should be the same on the 2. It's an old review...hopefully the watch is still around. You can try sending a pic of the watch to your dealer of choice, and see if they can get the same model...pointing out things of note to make sure you get the one you want...that's what I would do. Good luck...thanks for being a Platinum member...AND, don't forget to go HERE to register for the lotto. RWG Support RAFFLE
