Well....this is something that I have been thinking about lately....and I think that with patience and a steady hand I can do it myself.... Log on to ofrei.com and check out the tool section....you will atleast need a hand removal tool and perhaps a bergen dial protector....also a tool to place the hands back on the pin when all done....of course the hands will probably not fit on your new movement unless you buy the same movement as the one you are replacing.... I imagine that you wait until the movement is out of juice....not running....remove it from the watch case....then place the hands at 12:00 and insert the bergen dial protector....then use the hand removal tool and carefully take off the hands....one by one....then remove the dial.... From here it might be a little more complicated that I imagined....not sure though....as long as the new movement works with the dial I suppose everything will be fine....

Why dont you just find a local watchsmith in your town....there....problem solved....if you can find someone who is willing to work on the watch....

I would just retire the old bracelet and go leather....

Yes....the rehault and the dial looks very very good here....nice job on the CGs....very impressive....not to mention the flawless lume job....and the bracelet...my goodness....must be tripple wrapped 18k....how did you manage to get your hands on that gen bezel....by the way....I really liked the little touch with the price tag....and with all that paperwork and the glove to go with it you should have NO PROBLEM fooling anyone.... ....just having fun....beautiful watch man....one to pass down from generation to generation....or just trade it in after a few years for a different model.... this is proof that collecting reps leads to buying a gen....

Well....I guess I know what ill be dreaming about tonight....you should jump on the GMT with the red black bezel....out of production I have heard....

If you read the caption directly underneath the photo that is exactly what he explains it is....one of the high quality reps that has hit the internet market.... The article says that for every 750,000 Genuine Rolex that are produced there are 7,500,000 Rolex reps produced....seeing that the article is from 2004 I bet the number is even higher now....might even be approaching 10 million....

The buyer contacted me via another forum and asked me to take a look at the watch....I advised him to cancel the sale immediately....I suppose this guy should be reported to ebay as a fraud....I have never done that before but evidentially it can be done....

This is my opinion on the matter of dealer sponsored watch reviews.... Well....after reading everyones feelings on this subject....and taking into consideration the results of the poll....I think it is safe to say that if an appropriate system cannot be created....dealer sponsored watch reviews are perhaps not such a great idea.... Too many members are opposed to the idea....and it has become a controversial issue....potentially it could lead to unhappy members....there are enough watch reviews out there for all of us anyway....perhaps it is better for the forum and its members if the sponsored reviews are prohibited....unless some kind of appropriate system for conducting them can be created....if that is even possible....

Please give your comments on this poll and subject within this thread.... Sponsored watch reviws

Sorry you weren't IMPRESSED....but the poll is of a general nature....does not apply to any specific kind of movement or manufacturer....but to watches that have automatic movements in general.... Emmzy asked...."One has to ask why would anyone ever wind an automatic watch?" Because some automatics are able to be manually wound....so one might be led to believe that an automatic should be manually wound....as to fully charge or power up the movement....evidentially this is wrong and unnecessary....even Rolex gen automatics feature a manual winding mechanism....I suppose that their mechanism is built to handle the wear and tear of manual winds....unlike the reps that we collect....

Ok!...this is great news....now I know a little bit more about how I should be handling my automatics....I bet I can get a lot more life out of my reps if I just lay off the winding crown a little bit.... Too bad the admin moved this poll from G.D. to the Movement Q&A section where it is not getting enough attention....I know that the response would have been a lot greater in General Discussion....surely it would have helped a LOT more people in G.D....oh well.... Is there anyone out there who has the authority to move this poll back over to G.D.?
