  1. Thanks guys....good to know there is not a good rep of that watch right now....im sure he has the gen....I was just a litttle worried about the movement....it could have been swapped with an ETA that supports all of the functions....I know it is made on an ETA base movement anyway but I dont want to end up buying it if there is a replacement movement inside it.... I do like the watch....a nice looker indeed....complicated enough for me to not get bored with it after a couple of years....it is classy as well....I especially like the 24 hour subdial and the month-day-date functions.... Any word on the calliber?
  2. A very small "hole in the wall" watch repair store at one of the local malls here in las vegas is selling this watch.... BTW....this is NOT the actual watch....just a photo that I found on the internet.... Omega Speedmaster Day Date.... He is asking $2200....is that a fair price for this watch? Also....does anyone know what calliber movement it should have? I asked him if he would be willing to open it up for me if I came down with the cash....he went into a little spiel about how he could lose his license if he was to sell any counterfeit goods without disclosing it to the customer and that I could take it to any AD and have them authenticate it for me.... Strange that he seems to think that it is okay to sell counterfeit goods as long as you disclose it to the customer....lol....obviously a little slip of the tongue there....lol....
  3. Dont waste anymore time on this one guys....the owner of this watch just posted ANOTHER thread over at RWG....he knew that the watch was a replica....he just wanted to pretend it was a gen to see if anyone would notice....he just spent a bunch of money on the mods....wanted to check the work out on us by fronting it as a gen.... douche bag....
  4. Thanks guys....I suspected there was a problem....didnt look right to me....Just goes to show that you have to be very very careful when buying a used rollie.... So this is some kind of franken with gen and rep parts most likely....I suspect the movement is correct though....as for the other stuff who knows.... I posted a link to this thread over at the other forum....well see what happens now....
  5. Here ya go pal.... Here is the link to the thread over at RWG....
  6. One of the members over at another forum just purchased a gen 16750....early 80s model.... I noticed that his hand stack has the GMT hand below the hour hand.... He says it is running with a 3075 calliber.... So we have an old vintage GMT with the new 3075.... Is this the correct hand stack for this watch?
  7. A pic for comparison.... Ebay item in question.... There are differences....can you see them?
  8. Say this.... "Ya its real....but im not sure if I should have bought it because every time somebody notices it they ask me if its a fake." That will shut up your average bonehead who does not have the common decency to understand that he is being rude.... IMHO....I believe that you should lie about your replicas....that is part of the hobby....trying to pull it off.... If it is a friend or someone that you are close to then ya....dont lie....otherwise feed em full of crap....lol NS
  9. I like the CIIRONOMETER spelling....LOL
  10. As far as getting scammed is concerned you should just chalk it up as a loss....a learning experience....and now that you are here you know who to buy from.... To avoid identity theft with the credit card that you used....you need to have your credit card company send you a new card with a different number....just explain to them that you believe an identity thief got ahold of your card information....they will replace the card for you and it will cost you nothing.... DONT try and get tricky and fool around....be smart! Chalk it up as a loss and replace the card....
  11. I have basically the same watch but in a DD....got it from Ruby and I love it to death.... After closer inspection of your watch I can see that your bar markers are better than mine....you actually have some lume....
  12. We (Some of the members over at RWG1) have reason to believe that the person who started this thread is actually one of the old original members using another identity and just having some fun....Demsey....
  13. Here's my baby.... 2005 Honda S2000 Magnesium metalic 250HP 0-60 under 6 seconds....
  14. I should have picked up on that....lol.... Wow....you play a lot of poker....250 hours is a lot.... @ Kenberg....He says that when he plays in a casino he averages 3 Big Blinds per hour on a 3-6 table....Im pretty sure that is what he means by 3/6....I am not familiar with a 3-6 table....I believe that is structured hold-em....no all-in's.... BR refers to Bank Roll....In other words if he had more cash he could play higher stakes and make more money.... I usually play 1-2 no limit hold em....I dont like to play structured holdem because you get too many chasers....people with crap hands that follow you all the way to the river and hit the miracle card for a win....its hard to protect your cards (Aces and such) when the betting is controled....that is also why it is very difficult to bluff in a structured game....you cant really bet big enough to scare anyone away....
  15. I am in absolutely! But it would have to be tournament style only....$10 or $20 or $50 buy in and the winner takes all....if we can get 10 people at $50 each the winner will walk away with $500! That is some fun poker and you are not risking a lot of money....only the amount of the buy in.... I dont want to play a straight money game....a tournament style is a little more appropriate for a forum poker match.... I live in Las vegas and play poker constantly....I do not agree with jdfaker on this....but I will say that the rake is getting a little ridiculous these days....
  16. How many people do you think get scammed every year as a result of buying a watch that they thought was genuine? Probably over $100,000,000 per year in replica watch scams world wide.... When we buy a replica watch....we are actually supporting an industry that perpetuates fraud....even though we have no intention of scamming anyone and we buy the watch for our own personal use.... The article you have posted is another great reason to get out of the rep collecting business....if indeed there are kids in sweat shops who have been made slaves....until some more specific information on this subject has been uncovered I am with you....I will not buy another rep.... To bad the article was not more specific about what kind of factories these kids are forced to work in.... From my understanding....replica watch factories are not really 'factories'....as Dave123 said they are in the back room of businesses and peoples homes where a couple of people are putting watches together....its not like a huge assembly line with hundreds of workers putting them together....at least I hope not....
  17. I got a little brave today and decided to reassemble the keyless works on one of my 2836-2.... I got it all back together using the bazz tutorial....it looks to be working properly but it no longer manually winds or hacks when all the way out.... Any ideas why this is happening?
  18. 40" is too small....I have a 56" Samsung DLP that has an awesome picture....it costs far less than $2000....and I have my computer hooked up to it.... So heres what you do....take a trip down to an electronics store and have a look at the DLPs....buy one....save over $600 and spend the rest on reps!
  19. I live in Las Vegas and there is a reputable store here called Tower of Jewels.... They have the largest selection of used watches (Mostly Rolex) in the state.... They might be able to track down a used Omega for you....towerofjewels.com Their main store is located on Sahara and Maryland Parkway....although they have 5 locations.... The Sahara store number is 702.735.4145....I tried calling them for you but they are already closed for the day.... Other than T of J....you will have to resort to pawn shops and various little jewelry stores that dont really have a reputation....or if you want to buy a new Omega I suggest you visit the Palazzo at the Venetian or as another member has mentioned Caesars Forum Shops....although you might pay a little more for the watch at those types of high end retailers....I believe you will get the best price for new at ben bridge. NS
  20. Okay....now that was an easy fix....took literally like 2 seconds....now the clasp goes together with a nice firm snap....wont be falling apart anymore Thanks guys!!
  21. Its a POLEX.... Actually I dont have any idea....just guessing....
  22. It seems that the subject of this thread has gone way off course from its original purpose....so I did not bother to read the whole thing....and I appologize if this solution was mentioned anywhere in the thread.... To avoid the bashing of a for sale thread....you could turn the thread into a POLL and click on the box that will not allow anyone to post in the thread....then the seller should put in the thread that any questions or inquiries will be sent through PM.... Problem solved.... NS
  23. I thought about that....and now that you have suggested it I will give it a try when I get home....just a small bend....Ill post the results....if things dont work out then ill just order another one from Ruby....probably a presidential this time though.... Do the new presidentials have the same problem? NS
  24. I recently bought a SSDD....the watch is a nice looker....but the darn clasp comes undone all the time....like when I clap my hands or pull my hand out of my pocket.... Do any of you guys know a fix for this problem....I love the watch but I dont like to wear it now because it constantly comes undone.... You can see the mechanism that has the issue in this photo.... Any help would be great.... NS
