  1. Thanks mate for sharing your review. However, I do not feel this watch has been so well replicated. When I review the movement: I found the following issues: Chrono pushers in wrong position: AR. Sorry i do not agree about the quality of the AR treatment. I own several reps, with chinese AR, not aftermarket, much better AR than this UPO. Too blue reflection. Not good AR indeed. the DW is EXTREMELY sunken: And, as you can see in the picture, some metal reflection is visible. Pearl. The pearl is still wrong. regards, Francisco
  2. in some parts it is not so important not having a jewel. For example, in the minute counter. it is really the same to have a jewel or not there. because normally the chrono is off, and if it is on, only rotates a bit per minute. the problem could arise in the parts that are always rotating. if there is no oil there, jewel is more resistant to wear. regards, Francisco
  3. the end of the tube is just a bit... in this way the crown touches the case when the it is screwed. about the outside diameter...it is not a bit. I did not take measurements... you finish when you can screw the crown. regards, Francisco
  4. I found these pictures from a course of watchmaking. It does not seem so big: I tried myself... it is a piece of perfect engineering... one of the best finished watches I have tried.
  5. the modification is in the top, under the dial... so you have to combine both movements to have that beautiful back with the modification to move the hours to position 12.... this is not the tuto
  6. after working again with this movement, and after oiling that output gear that is rotating over the surface of the plate (and oiling more parts), I have changed my mind..now i think that just oiling that parts, the movement is not going to be problematic. And now...good news.. I will publish soon a tuto about combining two movements, to improve the back of that beautiful IWC regulateur. Some pictures now: rep IWC regulateur and the movement to be combine with the regulateur modification. new movement with the modification combined. a very interesting project... at least for me... regards, Francisco
  7. the regulateur movement is reviewed here: After a proper lubrication is a good movement. regards, Francisco
  8. The main rule is: do not fly to Paris when coming back to Europe. if so, you will pay nothing. regards, Francisco
  9. the tuto is here: regards, Francisco
  10. One of the problems of some reps is the tube where the crown is screwed, because the steel used is soft and the tube-screw is damaged after some use. The result is that you cannot screw the crown any more. For Oris Carlos Coste rep we found a solution, in this tuto: Now we solve the same problem for the UPO. The owners of this rep are complaining about the same issue
  11. still waiting for the parcel. It seems the size is the same... so a direct fit...hopefully.
  12. all the info about this issue is here: regards, Francisco
  13. wait a moment! One I had a similar problem. The hand tube was firmly attached to the output pin...however, the hand rotated freely. I found that the seconds gear was the problem. The pin was loose IN THE GEAR. regards, Francisco
  14. the tuto is here: regards, Francisco
  15. Portuguese movement is really worse designed than AP. However, i need to have a look again.
  16. the problem is the modification, not the Asian 7750. It is the same with AP seconds at 12. After some work, the watch runs perfect: So all the effort has to be made to improve the modification for moving seconds to 9 to 6. And, as seen in AP, some AP watches are problematic due to a bad assembly, not to the modification itself. We are mixing many kind of problems... Portuguese is problematic for some reasons, not just one. Regards, Francisco
  17. I am very satisfied with the results after improving the modification on the modification on the movement of AP seconds at 12, as shown here: That modification is for improving the reliability and for resuscitating dead movements. One of the consequences of this work is that the motion of the seconds at 12 is much better after the mod. Following video shows the seconds motion as I received the watch from a member: After the works shown in the tuto, this is the running: Please, run both videos simultaneously to see clearer the difference. Regards, Francisco
  18. DW is recessed in the gen and must be recessed in the rep.
  19. I think I have found a compatible tube for only 5 euros. And it is much easier to swap...and you do not need to fit the (or a new stem) stem in a new crown..etc... I am waiting for the new tube. If I succeed I will post a tuto. Regards, Frasncisco
  20. I wanted to write a tuto... I have the pictures... my girlfriend is swimming and enjoying sauna with a PAM a waterproofed by me... I have all the info.. but I forget to write the gasket I employed.. Anyway... I wanted to employ only a big/fat gasket...but then I could not close the lever. So I found that using 2 gaskets is the solution. Remember, you cannot swim if you do not pass a pressure test before! I bought a box with crown gaskets at cousinsuk.com regards, Francisco
