Balance slowing down when in dial-down position?

Should I buy a wath with ETA or with ETA clone movement? This a important question in the rep world. This is a history of a watch sent to me to be repaired. A deepsea Rolex, the watch does not run. The watch is new and guaranteed to have a gen ETA movement. After opening the caseback: There is a Rolex sticker stopping the balance wheel. The sticker was on the rotor. A better picture: However, when we have a look to the portion of the rotor hidden by the sticker: Clearly, this movement comes from a Enicar watch. http://www.enicar.com/main_eng.htm After cheking the movement, it is pretty sure is a gen ETA 2834-2: Good text and good ETA logo: Reversing wheels with many holes: Unfortunatly, the movement in the timegrapher shows a not good running... very dissapointing... and there is some extrange behaviour in the winding system. Some thoughts: * The owner paid for gen ETA and he received a gen ETA. However, a recycled ETA. Buyer payed $85 to recieve a gen ETA, instead of a clon ETA. * How old is this movement? It was revised and serviced? * If you buy clone, you receive clon. If you buy ETA, you can recieve a clon... or a ETA, but for $85... this is what you can expect. Just take it into account... Normally the solution is to disaasembly and reassembly the keyless work. It is not a difficult task. -

Reluming a bezel insert pearl with epoxy
Francisco replied to Francisco's topic in Francisco's Reviews And Tutorials
Thanks there -
Some times the pearl of the bezel insert disappears. Follows a Seamaster GMT with this problem: There are two main options to repair it: 1.- Common relume. Mixture of varnish and lume. The problem is that the final pearl will be a bit weak, and there is a chance of loosing again the pearl. 2.- Employing epoxy. The final pearl will be stronger, and, of course, will better glued to the bezel insert. This tuto shows the second option, and SHOWS THREE TRIALS, each time with better result. First trial. Dark pearl. Materials. 5 minutes Araldit epoxy and lume. I employed, more or less, the same amount of the two epoxy components and lume: Firstly, the epoxy is mixtured: And then the lume is mixtured to the epoxy: The final mixture is promising, very good lume: And now time to relume. Picture shows that I have used to mixture and to apply the lume a tool to remove bracelet

For the pro's: Removing a balance staff of a Remontoir
Francisco replied to Rolexman's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
perfect pictures, The Zigmeister, thanks for sharing. -
did you press the button when re-installing the stem? In these movement you never have to do it. Regards, Francisco
-
for ETA 2824 and 2836 you do not have to push the button to re-install the stem. If so, you will mesh the keyless work. To solve that problem you have to remove hands, dial and the to re-assembly the keyless work. It is an easy fix...the third time you have done it. Regards, Francisco

Is this a new Super-Clone ETA movement?
Francisco replied to Francisco's topic in General Discussion
Thanks friends, so I think now it is a gen. -
If you have the ETA or ETA clone, swap is quite easy. I think there is a tuto in some place....

Hi there: I would like to ask your opinion to find out if this 2824-2 movement is a clone or an ETA. I am sure that, if this is a clone, it is not a usual clone, it would be a super-clone. Let me show some pictures. The watch is a Sinn U1 Of course, the ETA stamp and the text 2824-2 is there. And, as you can see, the reversing wheels look ETA, as they have many holes: I have been using the next image, supplied by one dealer, to distinguish a clone of an ETA movement. I normally only consider the holes of the reversing wheels: However, if this movement is disassembled, the other faces of the reversing wheels look different whe comparing to an ETA reversing wheel: As previous picture shows, the slots in the reversing wheels are different when comparing with an ETA reversing wheel spare. For me this is very suspicious. Next picture shows a truly clone (no ETA stamp) that I repaired few weeks ago. The slots are similar (but not equal) to the movement what we are analyzing now. So we have 3 types of the slots: ETA, clone

This is a Porsche with A7750 movement. The day/date cannot be changed using the crown. However, the change works at midnight, as following videos shows: Therefore, given the problem that this watch has, there are two possible sources: a keyless work problem or a problem in the piece that pushes the two day/date wheels (double corrector). So we know where to have a look. The screwed case back is removed: The movement is removed: Time to remove hands and dial: It is very easy to remove the day wheel: Red arrow in following picture shows the piece that pushes the day/date wheels (double corrector) when the crown is rotated. As it was said before, this piece is one candidate to be the source of the problem. When I touched it to examine it

Many parts are compatible... however, all the train wheels ad the balance are not
