  1. @Omega Fan: it just happened that I came across this thread. Yes, the crown on the gen is of much better quality than the rep. I ordered the set for Laz from Ofrei too. It just that sometimes they don't have ready stock the shipping charges are ridiculous (28USD with EMS only, no other cheaper options).
  2. Well. I have to disagree here. I don't think having the watch in rubber directly translates to discomfort. I owned many reps with rep rubber strap (i.e. IWC Cousteau, Hublot Big Bang, Omega PO and Chopard Mille Miglia). They wear comfortably on the wrist even with rubber, except the Big Bang (sharp clasp). Infact when it comes with SS bracelet, the watch maybe tad too heavy. You can ask ByTor about his UPO too. I can vow that I can wear the IWC with rubber for extended period of time without any feelings of discomfort.
  3. Yes, even on the gen the subdial hands aren't lumed. Here's mine: This is the new one:
  4. Yes, I have asked him about this one too. However, based on the datefont, it looks like low beat ETA movement. My old Breitling Avenger Chrono comes with exactly the same datefont. Lets hope for it to come with hi beat 7750.
  5. Indeed... This one looks very good and a good candidate for lello's DW upgrade. Anyway, is the AR double sided? I have seen PT's listing, it seems to come with low beat Asian 7750 (good thing if you are planning to swap to ETA7750).
  6. Definitely... This one even wears bigger than UPO. It's like wearing a Fiddy (to me).
  7. No problem... I have 2 Fa Jones too, both comes with mineral crystal and they are not flat (domed slightly).
  8. The rep is like pictured above but the running second at 9 is not lumed.
  9. Yes, JLC master compressor.
  10. Earlier batch of this watch comes with sapphire crystal (usually with ETA6498 undecorated). The one with Asian decorated movement usually comes with mineral crystal. Perhaps you may share how much/how did you get this watch. The one around 100USD mark will most likely come with mineral crystal.
  11. The glowing part of CD 2007 is the running second hand (orange lume) and the dots ...5...10...15 dial markers and hands. Even the chrono counter is not supposed to glow. Here is for your reference:
  12. Why not allowed? You posted this off topic and seriously... You picture is much better (more interesting) than that of #5. @Shundi: LOL
  13. You can also take bus from there to GZ. Costs 1/3 of train.
  14. You can do without unscrewing it. The key is to remove the outer bezel first. If you look closely from outside, the bezel is actually "glued" to the case. The opening is very small. Be really careful doing this, please.
  15. There you go: There are a few possibilities to remove the dust as removing the bezel + crystal ring is not that straightforward and you may damage your watch. You can use Rodico or dust blower. Remove the bezel as last resort.
  16. About the price, you have to at least speak a bit of the language and don't act as a big tourist ready to get milked out (of your cash). Bargaining is very important in this place, get whatever you are familiar with in order not to get scammed and be firm but not ridiculous with your price. As a rule of thumb, that IWC GST Chrono Ti can be had for less than 200USD. Hublot Big Bang 250USD (this one is with double AR and non screw down crown).
  17. Compliments to you Toadtorrent. Well written preview, even without presence of the "real" watches. PS: I won't buy the rep... The movement is the real "eye catcher" on this piece.
  18. They may ask, where's the receipt? Well... again, not a big concern. Since you're in transit in Germany. They are more concerns about drugs, guns rather than fake watches.
  19. For this weekend:
  20. Just another observation, is the inner clasp and clasp release buttons gold colour on this model? On V1, it's black PVD colour. Here is picture for comparison:
  21. Like stated above. Parts are not NOS but for the price, you can get a bargain out of it. The 2 IWC dials are in pretty good condition. I won't pay for more than 100USD shipped though.
  22. The day and date changes mechanism on a real ETA7750 has a difference of only +/- 30 minutes, unlike Asian 7750 hi beat which has a difference of about 2 hours (date advances first then day). Like stated above, if it doesn't bother you, don't do anything.
  23. No doubt that it's real Well... 1300UK pound is too much for this watch IMHO.
  24. In order to correct this, you need to reinstall the hour and minute hands properly. No way of correcting it without decasing the movement/opening the watch. You need hand removal tools, dial protector and hand setter on top of basic tools such as caseback opener, screwdriver, tweezer, etc. If the problem didn't annoy you, it's OK. I have heard story even a gen Omega SMP has date change at 3 o clock in the morning.
  25. The factory AR is already very good. I won't send it for recoating unless it gets lots of scratches. I have been wearing it as daily beaters and apparently on my piece, the coating holds up pretty well. I have banged it a few times, the bezel gets scratched but not the crystal or the coating.
