Wow, excellent LV. Where did you get the gen. LV dial? Been searching for ages. Cheers.

This can happen. You know how the Chinese factories make assemblies. Looks like in this case they stripped the screwhead and then just sand the whole top of the locking screw flat. If this really is the case, nothing can be done. Better to ask for a replacement. Sorry to say that.

The APROO sec@12 is so well engineer, been tempted to get it for a long time. But still wondering if the bracelet can be trimmed down to fit a 6" wrist. Enough removable links to accomodate this size? Anyone got any idea?

The bezel edge seems to be smooth as seen in H's official site. Or am I missing something here?

Wasting Money On AP ROO Strap Mods
bertieng replied to Emperor Penguin's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Not sure if the conversion kit comes with the rep will fit the AP Band. I think the kits have different specs. My gut feeling tells me that kit from AP Band has a way better quality /finish than the rep set. -
Does it mean a gen. 3135 date disc can be installed onto the 2824-2 w/o any mods., and by swapping the hour wheel and cannon pinion from a 2836-2 onto it everything will then work? Can the spacer comes with the 2824-2 gives the sufficient clearance between the dial and the mainplate in this case? Thanks.

Does it mean we can fit the gen. gasket + 295C onto the Euromariner/Supreme Sub is OK? Or do we need to use the gasket comes with the reps? Thanks.

Tried. No matter how hard I pushed from the bottom, the pin just won't come out. Already made a deep dent on the pin end. Looks like I have to give up.
-
Has anyone ever encountered the problem that the lever holding pin cannot be pushed out of the CG? Mine doesn't seem to come out at all even using a bracelet pin remover.

Brequet Jubilee Regulatuer Salmon - generation tourbillon
bertieng replied to rckh's topic in Other Brands Area
Nice watch. But again this is no Seagull tourby, it is Liaoning. Try make full wind and keei it sitting vertical i/o horizontal to see if it will stop running after 24 hours. Then put it horizontal to see if it runs for another 20 hours again. -
I won't have the guts to do this. It takes lots of precision measurement to make the proper line up. Once falsely drilled and the case is done. Better toleave it to the experts to handle this delicate job.

This is the Euromariner w/o the rehault engravings?

Thanks freddy. This is what I suspect. I took it to my wtachsmith but he refused to do the fix not becasue it is a rep ( he has been my wonderful repair experts for all my watches both gen. and rep) but rather he worries about the risk of parts broken in dissemabling the A7750 since most of the gears/parts are quite badly machined. He suggested me to ask for a replacement is the safer bet.

Thanks for the comment. Can you shed me some light on what is the issue with the dial? Cheers.

After months and months of collecting the parts in every corner of the world, the McQueen project is at last completed. Let the watch speaks for itself. Everything starts from the 1575 engine. I was lucky to find the true 1570 with the 24 hour module at a very affordable cost. Some shots with the watch head assembled. Some details on the dial. The silver datewheel. And finally completed with the 7836 folding bracelet which I feel is more correct for this combination. I must say there really has been a lot of work involved which is even beyond the efforts spent in building my previous 6538 Bond project. I must say here a big THANK YOU to Tribal for all his contribution in making this McQueen successful. So, what is next in the line? Milgauss 6541........?! Target completion 2009.......but I msut get my LV done first. Hope you have enjoyed and cheers.

The date on my A7750 Chopard only jumps half at the date change. What possibility is the problem? Can this be fixed. Any tutuorial around for fixing this problem? BTW, is Chpopard using the datewheel orginally comes with the 7750? The movement experts pelase chim in. Thanks.

I will say it is almost impossible to fix this wrist killing problem on the HBB buckle. It is the natural fault of the rep design. The hurting part mainly comes from the button relelase part of the clasp, it is simply too protrusive to match the thinner strap going thro' it.
-
I owned the basic HBB SS bezel but then stops me from buying any other models. Hard to believe screws are still falling out from the current versions, is it so hard to fix this? Prices for these HBB are flying skyhigh like mad in the past 12 months and people are still happy to pull out their hard earned money to pay for these so called "best rep". Really wonder how the word "best" can be applied to these HBB no mattter how good the AR is, true ceramic bezel....... There are so many other good quality watches around just for some 200-300 bucks even with an ETA heart, but why dumping 1K for a rep with an Asian movement and you always have to stare at it, not to admire it but to make sure the screwsa are still in place and at the same time to withstand the torture of the buckle digging into your skin. What is so fantastic about the HBB, why everyone is so crazy and got excited with it. Perhaps that is the reason why the sellers can still rip the 1K off our pocket.

Just like the GMTIIc, this is THE watch must get if cash/your wife allows you.
-
This is a rep? Looks gen. though. For sure it is not a MBK. Where do you get this if it really is a rep?
-
Has anyone ever tried and successful in removing the the bezel of the CFO? Need to do some upper rim polishing on mine. Thanks.

Got the SS version, the finish is pretty good except the release buttons are not too smoothly springloaded. The deployment buckle is originally designed for the Swordfish, and you have to swap the strap the other way round on the watch ie. the tongue to be put on top instaed to give the correct orientation of the buckle.

t-crowns.. review and photos and comparison with gen
bertieng replied to V's topic in The Panerai Area
A very nice and close up review. Is it just the picture angle the t crown looks quite deviated from the gen. The teeth are not as deep and sharp as the gen., making the beveled edge of the crown almost looks rounded off. Does it have the same number of teeth as in the gen.?
