I can't see myself getting a gen anytime soon, partially due to financial reasons. I do have a passion for watches, but it's wavered over the last couple of years. At times I think that spending £2K+ is ridiculous on a watch and at other times I think about buying the "ultimate grail" and wearing it for the rest of my life and then passing it down The peace of mind is appealing but I'm not sure how soon boredom will kick in
Very nice collection calatrava! Its good to see the support from both PP and Rolex, both have their own interesting histories in horology and made their marks. The only PP I own is a MBK Nautilus, a very fine timepiece I must say. I think of PP as the 'Bentley' of watches Recently I'm being drawn to one of their dress models, the Calatrava seems like the one!
I like the look of both, however as others are pointed out they're both completely different watches. It all depends on taste. If I had to choose one over the other I would go for the HBB.
The V3 is a brilliant rep. I've had mine for just over 2 years now, black dial. The quality is amazing for the price, I can't think of any other reps which have the same fit and finish at a similar price point. I originally wanted the charcoal dial but it was out of stock, I'm happy with my black
If your dealer is replacing the entire bracelet for free, then that is good. However it may very well happen on that one too, I've had it happen on 2 UPO bracelets, the rivet the factories used is not very good quality.
Also I had a good incentive of keeping my original one, I re-brushed and polished the bracelet to match the grain, hue and lustre of the gen
There is a fix for that problem DP8, I've done it myself before.
You need to get a steel pin/thin nail, and cut it to size. Then apply a small amount of high quality superglue to both ends of the pin and fit it in. Also, every half hour or so, you might want to move that clasp area around to prevent the glue from sticking to the thicker metal piece (the one with the pin sticking out that the clasp attaches to). If you applied glue to ends of the makeshift rivet this should minimize the risk of sticking.
I know what you mean! I've never handled the 42, but I think it will be the right fit for my wrist
What do you think of the orange numbers? If I was to get the 42mm, I was thinking of getting the white number version, it looks more traditional (not sure if that's a good thing ) Then again I do like the orange numerals on my UPO, not sure... hmmm
Is it possible to source a WM9 YM case, dial or bezel insert? I think my current YM houses a 2824-2 movement but I only really want a dial and bezel insert.
