  1. The font seems to be correct but the dw still seems a little 'off', will see more when I get it, it looks obviously weak and possibly a little too big vs the gen which is more glossy/bolder/smaller and silver on the black background. Absolutely, bit of a chaotic mess alright, the 45mm without any AR is a major mess up, that in itself is a real let down for anotherwise flawed but nice watch. Especially since the 42mm looks to have some of the best double AR on a rep!?? The logo is a mystery, afaik the logo and lettering are same size on 45mm gen as 42mm (they might look bigger on 42mm gen but I don't think its the case, just more bunched up dial giving that effect) and yet on the reps they go for a pretty accurate logo for the 45mm, and a bloated one for the 42mm!? Sometimes they do the more awkward thing than the obvious thing! Why not use the 45mm logo/letterings across all models!
  2. Good questions, I doubt previous gen parts such as older crystal will be installable in this but you never know, afaik this with new model and its different case build has a slightly wider bezel than the previous model, making the crystal a little less wide, that would be on the gen model though, with the reps who knows. I'm hoping that eventually the factories will put the same AR as is on the 42 rep onto the 45 rep, seems crazy not to. Somewhere along the line it seems the 45 rep crystals were sourced from a different supplier than the 42mm rep crystals, this supplier either didn't bother to coat or tried to save money by not coating as well. This will surely be rectified soon enough. Its unusual to have a 1:1 type project where the rep crystal AR is nothing like the gen or 42m, something is very off in this regard. The dealers might be able to supply a separate AR'd rep crystal to first buyers of the 45mm when they are done. As for gen parts being available on cousinsuk/ofrei for these in future, that looks highly unlikely to happen. Omega have become restrictive on parts now for new models, as production has gone inhouse, they may be available 2nd hand as service parts in the future, but it's highly unlikely they will ever be offered in the same way as it was with the old model. Either way I heard from someone who has a contact in Bienne that even service parts now would be very expensive, e.g. around $800+ for a Ceramic bezel or thereabouts. So the 5th gen/UPO will probably be the last of the last fully frankenable rep PO's. Small stuff like pearl mods from any older model bezel as a doner would still be doable though. Also if doing a dw mod the calibre 2500d PO dws are available from ofrei and should fit this rep: http://www.ofrei.com/page1596.html
  3. No worries at all vandal, this forum is calmer than others, there's about 25 pages over on the geek where things were getting a bit mental comparing to gen. I think they've calmed down a little now Edit: Some pics from a guy over on rwi, madcatlancelot, he received his 42mm, must say looks fairly decent. And vs a modded 5th gen with sunny crystal. The rep AR looks pretty good!
  4. It's usually applied via pin holes so it's a case of taking off the dial and pushing it out a little from the pin holes at the back of the dial. Then straighten from there. Crude way is to check if it is not applied steady on the pins from the front...without taking off the dial, sometimes they can be moved a tad from there. tbh it would be a case of probably leaving it for a while and then doing a few mods that might improve the watch a little overall, i.e, gen pearl and gen date wheel...and then do the straightening. Nice! Dial looks very sweet. AR is hard to get done these days, K222 is long gone, taka not doing it anymore and not too sure about chief! Uwe in Germany doing it and as Wiz in France. tbh the hope would be someone like sunnydale would possibly get a run done in the future if there is no improvements directly from the factory. His AR is very good.
  5. Totally agree, it's insane, hence my hitler video The big rotor screw in the middle of the 2824 is bigger tell than any wrong engravings! It's only the front I'm gonna nitpick, and tbh apart from some mishaps there they've done a good job. I'm absolutely delighted they are willing to take on open caseback models such as this. It was getting to the stage that a large contingent on some forums didn't want any watch with an open caseback repped...."cos it won't be 1:1 with the gen, innit, I can't walk into an AD and flaunt my rep with that caseback window".
  6. Good stuff keep us posted, very interested in that. Lots of ironing out to be done with all these PO's in the coming months, rarely seen such a chaotic rush to get such a popular watch out within a couple of days of CNY. Mad stuff. Must be several hundred orders gone in with just 2 dealers since the weekend, and then they go and release more yesterday!! QC doesn't seem to be well, the best quality, or very well controlled
  7. Just open the case, I hate Paypal with a passion but this is what they've set themselves up as so go with it. As long as this is not a rep and a legitimate item then just open a 'not as described' case and photograph as much as you can. i.e. detail what you were supposed to receive vs what you received. Be nice and concise with them as if you were talking to a child. Follow the prompts with the process and see what sellers response is, if no input from seller then it gets escalated to a dispute and then its a bit of a lottery, but you have the advantage as the buyer. You've already done the first steps in trying to resolve directly with the seller so move to the next steps. Good luck with it.
  8. Yes I'm hoping one comes out aswell, also a lot of others. At first it was all a bit of a lottery that any of these new omegas (Ceramic PO's and teak dial AT's) would be done, open casebacks are a major stopping point for them lately as people are going to pick them apart. But now that they've attempted the PO and they've done a pretty good job, getting the AT done looks promising. Hopefully there will be a bit more update after CNY. After all the AT is another bond watch so will be a good seller if they put the effort in!
  9. Oh it is! but that's the balancing thing here, he was happy with the QC, I was just pointing out that was tilted(which he didn't mention...), after that he can do as he sees fit. In this case the watch QC looks very good with one of the best pearls I've seen so I personally I would accept it and straighten the logo, but everyone is different. The balancing thing with these atm seems to be between getting a good one and getting one quickly. I'm sure once the initial craze and cny ends people will be a lot more rigid on what they accept. Also I think we are now being brought back down to the reality of reps whereas at the start everyone was comparing QC pics to gens, it's all a compromise, 42mm has worse omega lettering but better AR, 45mm has worse AR than 42mm but better pearl and logos etc! It looks very nice! Good choice!
  10. Hi Randy, the versions of that watch are pretty poor atm but could be looking better in the future following the planet ocean release. Keep an eye on this thread it should fill you in: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/145219-skyfall-bond-watch/ Stan is wbk, check the dealers/collectors section. tbh, if you want one of the cheaper ones go for it but they are far from good, even for cheap reps.
  11. Let us know how the pumpkins and blue Ti's work out if yet get some qc pics etc, they both look interesting. We're getting overloaded with colours now and very close to a cny hold up!
  12. Jesus, "Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night"
  13. I ordered mine from Andrew, in fairness he was quick off the mark and corrected it early, pretty good fast service. Only hope they clear china before the major hold up starts. btw new models out now, blue and pumpkin, both on Josh and A's sites.
  14. A few real life pics of the 45mm coming in on some forums already, one or two already received by today. looks a damn nice watch, the less I say about the gen like double AR on the 45mm the better though. Thanks to R5tdi for the update. Not sure if he is on here so I took the liberty of posting a few of his pics for those not on rwgbz. It looks a very nice watch despite some obvious flaws. http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=43828
  15. Yep, that's the usual 82, eventually you'll get a good one, but with cny that takes time..... one of mine, the 45mm, I could only see on one pic, it was obscured on the others but the 12 marker and top of logo looked damaged, dented or scratched. So I rejected aswell holding up everything, the replacement had a slightly crooked logo, but otherwise fine so I thought I'll just take it and straighten it, couldn't be bothered waiting any longer.
  16. The trouble is, these aren't watch to watch QC issues per se, (as in, we're not gonna get one with a proper cut unfortunatey!) these are production issues across the board on that 42m, every 42mm rep has that bulky OMEGA unfortunately. Why they let it happen I do not know, especially when similar sized reps such as smp chrono and Hont's recent LM PO had that lettering cut very close to gen, it would've been easier to copy that template.... it looks better cut on the 45mm tbh. Here is a recent Hont LM rep, a cheap poorish rep, but with a nice dial, it had a much more accurate cut to gen and it was about the right size for the 42mm ceramic aswell.
  17. Hi Dazza, welcome to the forum, or should I say back to the forum. Good to have you around, I'm in Ireland myself! Trying to balance budget cuts with reps!
  18. Looks great finn, everything looks perfectly solid with that one, including pearl, markers and logos, I'd go for it, good pick.
  19. Agree, seems not much loyalty these days, it's a shame but I'd do the same on principal. This whole release was a bit rushed, far too close to cny with no room for error, hundreds of orders went in yet any rejection meant the whole order would be stuck till after cny anyway. They should've waited until after cny and specified a bit better qc checking to the factory. I do hope most of this issues are in the minority but it doesn't exactly help your situation. Excellent, good news, my previous post went in without reading this update. Glad you got sorted!
  20. Looks very good to me scarface, but the omega logo does looks a little tilted in the first pic, just slightly but it is tilted. It's a pity as the watch is one of the best so far I've seen. Whether you want to accept it with the tilted logo is up to you. You're right on the happy feet though, only a couple so far, but a good few tilted correct logos like yours are coming out. If it was me I'd accept and straighten the logo, but up to you.
  21. Hitler finds out the Ceramic Planet Ocean has "Happy feet" and single AR. http://youtu.be/8KdDf8NUEvE
  22. Also shame that the watch looks v.good with great pearl etc all except for that logo, one step forward two steps back with the factories again!???
  23. Fcuk, jesus that is not on, Importr, yours is the 2nd i've seen with clear happy feet, thought the first was a one off but yours too, hope this won't turn into a disaster but not the best signs. I think josh is being very unreasonable here, i'd very much doubt it shipped either but his loss in the long run and you remain [censored] off. I wouldn't deal with him either again if I was in your shoes. Ridiculous stuff.
  24. Looks good to me mate, haven't seen much better than that, but I have seen worse 42mms in terms of lower pearl placement so I think you got a pretty good one. I'd say go for it. If the markers are a little crooked it is very minimal and should be an easy fix.
