  1. Great QC pics, who supplied them? I.E. Who was the dealer? That is how QC pics are done! Tbh, this looks great in comparison to some I've seen over the past month, enjoy it.
  2. That's a lovely watch Sgt, I really like the dial on that and the hands are cool. Very underrated watches these. Looks cool on the nato also. Wear it well!
  3. Try Trevor on the 5th gen although I think he is on extended Chinese NY holidays atm. Puretime has the VC, getting good feedback, very good for a basic dressy watch, although it is a rehash of an old model. The new portofinos are nice and also the AP RO look a decent dressy addition.
  4. Lovely idea Rolexman, agree with cc in that it's such a sentimental gift that it should be kept in the family, wouldn't worry about value, it's a special gift in these circumstances.
  5. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/146481-help-finding-gen-or-good-rep-iwc-straps/#entry1108145 There you go vl, you helped yourself out
  6. Is it acejewelers in Amsterdam? They are the only one I know of that are a full AD (non-grey)
  7. Can't stand these 'brands' tbh, RM is kind of like Dewitt, maybe not as 'out there'.... I know they create some very advanced and very well made watches and do amazing things with movements, but can't help thinking they are just another niche brand who hire some very advanced master watchmakers/designers to create obscure designs and over price them primarily to get the attention of extremely rich people. Bit like Hublot, but on steroids.
  8. I like the basic versions, @ 40mm and 10mm thick it is back to more realistic sizes and will fit much better as an all-rounder than the older ingenieur, ..it's also very reppable with closed caseback and 2892. .... but they made all the others including the ceramic @ around 46mm? wtf is that about? It is like one step forward, two steps back?
  9. Any way of setting up a proxy paypal account and everyone pay into that, for straps or teddybears or something and then that single account holder deal with the payza thing? This payza thing seems very crude atm?
  10. Yeah alot of people seem to be doing that lately, V2 clasp with V3 bracelet. I don't have a V3 bracelet, but with a couple of V2's I've had the clasp is excellent.
  11. Very nice wiesn089, looks good, nice deep graining. Thanks for the pic. Nice combination with the sarb. I also love those Seiko Sarbs, they are great watches for the money!
  12. Looks really good dave, very accurate. How are these doing in terms of sales I wonder. Definitely a few picking them up. But not huge feedback/reviews/comparisons across the fora about them? They gonna be a slow burner?
  13. Be careful with these railmasters, as Andy says the old one is nowhere to be seen nowadays, but there are many poor quality or other variations about (ala watcheden one above) Tony will get you a railmaster no problem, it just might not be the older version with thin numberals/AR/better case set/gen alligator etc. .....on the other hand, if they are back in production and Tony can source them then let us know.
  14. Cheers wiesn, good to hear about the quality of the alligator vs oem. I'm seriously tempted, but again Camille Fournet are so popular and also sell straps somewhat reasonably priced (expensive though with custom addons). Do you have any old pics of the Kaufmann alligator you have?
  15. Anybody hear of Kaufmann straps? They are a top brand strap maker up there with Camille Fournet/abp/Sirtoli etc and used to make oem Lange straps. I heard of them before but didn't pay much attention, but heard recently that they make oem IWC straps and can be bought online, at least some of them anyway, pilot chronos/marks/portofinos. Just wondering if anyone had any feedback. They aren't cheap, but quality looks outstanding, some are available here: http://www.stetefeld-design.de/uhrenarmbaender/nach-uhrenmarken/lederbaender-fuer-iwc/complication.htm http://www.stetefeld-design.de/uhrenarmbaender/nach-uhrenmarken/lederbaender-fuer-iwc/swiss-carre-sce.htm Edit: added pics:
  16. Lovely watches, I also have one on a bracelet, as rare as hens teeth these days. If you see one snap it up. Most who have one aren't selling theirs.
  17. I'm not sure what scratched it, it wasn't an AP offshore , just mentioning that offshore tools shop on the forums stocks that diamond paste also if anyone needed some. Scratch was on a gen AT, bought it with the description that is was a 'minor' nick and a few select nicely shadowed shots saying it would easily come out, granted it was cheap so I went with it. Bigger scratch than I thought, looks like I'll need to sit down for a while and get into this process. Thanks for the pics and writeup though, it got me motivated
  18. If andrews/josh service is a bit off you might find puretimes not much better, no problem with them just the team can be a bit slow and careless at times. Hard to say, was talking to trevor the other day and he is off soon until the 10 of feb. You could try toro, sead, hont or marvellousreplica or others like king mary, all have good competitive prices on the PO atm. Good luck with the search, best thing to do is to mass email all the dealers from the forums and see who is cheapest and responds promptly.
  19. I've been on there, not a bad bunch but a few seethe-rs in the mix, I think alot frequent tzeeuk and that has a few angry babies in the mix when it comes to reps also.
