Thanks, will have a read!

Same [censored] here. Just that it never comes out of 'saving post', sits there for ever, have to go back and refresh.

Yes, as above, tell him go jump... 4 months, he's havin a laugh, 4 weeks is too long also, 4 days is even pushing it. This sort of sense of entitlement seems to be happening a lot lately on the forums. Ridiculous, ...name and shame. The whole paypal dispute/Visa chargeback/tell my mommy lark has gone a bit far in the past year.

Nice looking strap. I have a hirsch heavy calf for years, looks similar to the rally but without the holes Hirsch make great durable straps.

Oops, Edit! wtf, double posts!

Some example QC pics up on the site. Pearl a bit of a mishap on this one, and the logos crooked, probably not the best example showing it off .. but interesting watch all the same. Surprisingly the logos/lettering and raised looking dw look like how they should have been on the 42mm CPO. I'm sure we'll see more pics soon enough.

Everything is cheaper in the USA

The price on these in the 2nd market seems to be pushing up, and also other older models will probably continue to push up judging by IWCs huge price increase in the latest models. A year ago you could get them 2nd hand in the UK for around £2K ish, now the are hard to find below £2.6K/£2.8K ish

That's a great collection nikki, some great stuff in there.

No problem, I'd wait for the V2 on the PO, unless you want the 42mm....also you're in luck mate, good timing, not quite the plain ceramic smp, but this looks the best for a long time http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/157945-new-50th-an-smp-is-up-on-pc/

Interesting, looks like it! Thanks for the heads up Rolexman. Finally an actual 3 hand smp case that looks good....for a change Why on earth they couldn't just do the plain jane non 50th is a mystery but us beggars can't be choosers. Either way looks pretty good from the promo pics, everything in the right place. Lookin forward to seeing it in the flesh! .....btw, looks like they got the omega lettering right on this one....and the dw looks better also than the PO 42mm.

Just get a fingernail in at the edge of the pearl and pop it out. It'll look better without it . As mentioned above you can buy inserts on ebay, the pearls still aren't great, but are a little better than the one above. Tbh, basic smps havent come on much in rep terms, yours is probably better in many ways than some of todays smps. If you want a half decent current smp rep the chrono is a good one. Also the planet ocean reps are good. We are still waiting for an up to date improved basic smp. A ceramic version would be nice.

Royal Oak Offshore Diver V3 vs V3.5 Verdict?
cougar1 replied to outrnm's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Go with the 3.5. For a while there around xmas last it was pot luck with the 3.5 Qc, so much so that the 3.0 became almost more sought after. I think things have moved on and the lume has improved and is 'back to normal' for the most part. Most QC I've come across in the last month or two has been fine. Still keep an eye on it though. If anyone bought one recently they might chime in and let us know their experience. -
Still in production, the full assembled prototype hasn't been release yet. Nice gen! Happy April 1st

Ceramic Planet Ocean Review (42mm and 45mm). Pic heavy
cougar1 replied to cougar1's topic in The Omega Area
Thanks Ry, I'm the same as you, I have the old gen 2500, and I was just on the edge of buying the gen 8500 PO both before and after xmas, I handled the gen 8500 about 5 times now but still find I can't part with the old one just yet. I'm finding it hard to justify ploughing a lot of money into any watch these days. Just seems a bit too extravagant. The rep CPO is a good substitute, a V2 should hopefully tidy up some minor issues as you mention. -
Ceramic Planet Ocean Review (42mm and 45mm). Pic heavy
cougar1 replied to cougar1's topic in The Omega Area
Angus said it during the week, he's always maintained noob were doing a release, it just seemed slow coming out and once these were released I assumed it was just usual dealer politics. He mentioned it last week again that the release will be out in the next couple of weeks. So he is still insistent on a release. Will be interesting to see. -

Ceramic Planet Ocean Review (42mm and 45mm). Pic heavy
cougar1 replied to cougar1's topic in The Omega Area
Yes they do seem to use the 45mm hour hand on the 42mm, very little difference vs gen though, maybe a mm longer or less on the rep. It's not really noticeable at all, the narrower lume infill is much more noticeable for instance. Anybody notice Omega released new gens recently. A 42mm and 37.5mm blue PO LM Ti. And also a PO GMT version. http://www.omegawatches.com/gents/seamaster/planet-ocean/23290422103001 http://omegaforums.net/threads/42mm-37-5mm-liquidmetal-blue-po-titanium-now-out.4440/ Also there is supposed to be a CUPO release coming from noob factory soon. I didn't think they would go ahead with it but we'll wait and see. -
Some proto updates on the dial not so long ago. The dial on the left is gen: The rep dial will be made a little darker and crisper font but it looks good so far. They are onto the bracelet now, the first iteration didn't turn out so well so they are getting another supplier for that.

Great mod dms, looks excellent, pity about the scratch. The matte coat really makes the bezel look gen now, really good idea, I think I'll try it in the future, I haven't got time to do a thing at the moment. I did notice that the bezels are bstard to get off though. A few weeks ago I tried removing the entire bezel with several methods that work for most watches and no go. I was just looking to change the pearl on the grey bezel but this mod looks great so may look into this one later. May get a pumpkin sometime as they look good. I think as you mention the best method is to go in from the case and remove xtal makes it easier to get at things. btw, how durable is the matte coat varnish on a bezel? Usually it is great for mattifying dials but never tried a bezel insert with it.

Honestly this potential speedy from the modded subdial a7750 and making it a superrep visually (it would be auto vs gen hw) has been talked about as far back as 2009 (2008 even) ....when the actual movement did come out the dealers were even saying it's being made, it's on the way etc. ...Here we are 4 years later, make of that what you will! /// Granted it would be still great to see it finally done...lots of options with broad arrows etc for great reps. But it still won't happen!

Ceramic Planet Ocean 42mm... Loving it! *Part 2 More Pics*
cougar1 replied to seraphe's topic in The Omega Area
Great pics Seraphe, are you using some sort of filter/grain on the eariler pics. Looks great, really makes the dial pop. @ Peduz, the 42mm wears kinda small in width, it should fit just fine on a 6.5" wrist. The difficulty comes with the height, it wears tall @ 16.5mm high, some dont mind the height, for others it is a bit too tall for comfort. Its hard to know how you feel about the height. If you are used to wearing 14mm-15mm it shouldn't be too much difference. If you are used to wearing 11mm or 12mm it'll feel odd for a while. -
Good idea correctime. I've done similar, installed a place holder and then broke that out after and then reworked a hole for the tube in the weld with a file, then glued the tube in again after. Very secure. Also on a bigger case hole with one externally threaded rep tube I used a sleeve and bonded the tube to that and then to the case. The ideal method would be a sleeve tapped on both sides and also threaded into the case or one which has a flat edge which allows it to be held rigid on the inside of the case and the tube screw into that. All in all, jb weld is great and it has managed to bridge even bigger gaps than I thought. The time left to cure seems to be the important part.

Planet Ocean 45.5 Titanium: Anyone got one yet?
cougar1 replied to seraphe's topic in The Omega Area
Nice gen pics! I don't think many have bought yet, a few across the forums. Surprisingly the blue colour looks pretty good for a rep, usually they get it pretty wrong but this seems close. I would like to see more info also. I agree on the dw and what they've done with the pearl vs the ceramic 45mm rep is a surprise. With all these new PO reps they are good but each has minor cosmetic issues which are solved (or near solved) on the another rep version. We usually excuse these things with an 'ah but they are reps' excuse but really the attention to detail could have been better with them all. 82kuba had some rl pics here of the blue LM: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/155637-finally-new-planet-ocean-ceramic-coming/page-6 ...bottom of page. I don't know if he picked up another one.
