  1. I wasn't sure either mate, def looks ceramic but could be anything I'm guessing they did the orange rep in alu as it was easier to get the colour close.
  2. I'm not so sure, who confirmed that it is not ceramic? I'll admit I didn't take it apart to examine the insert, it could well but a ceramic lookalike, and it does look ceramic, the aluminium inserts we are used to on older reps are much thinner.? Pic from sunnydale.
  3. I see what you mean, It's a nice looking watch, but the cases are not a patch on your CF. I can see this wood effect causing a few headaches when they hit the forums. Oops just seeing your post now, thanks!
  4. Great work Semaj, not sure on the CPO either, great rep but not sure it cuts it. What about the IWC portofinos? latest ones, they look pretty good, not sure if superrep but comes close. Also the V2 PP aquanaut suffers from the obvious open caseback, but surely up there with the nautilus? Wonder if is worth putting star rating 1-5 to differentiate qualities and give an idea or how the reps stack up next to a gen. 1 being close but no cigar and 5 being get out the loupe etc?
  5. Not much info on either the mark xvi or xvii for a while, a few snippets here and there, but the other day I saw this nice review on RWI http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/iwc-mark-xvii-137437.html Looks quality, now I want one!
  6. Yes the blue is the only one that should have it perry.
  7. I agree bamcky, I just had a look at their site. I still think the build is good for what you get but prices have risen over the past few years and that is putting them into competition with some very nice Tissots and Longines at a similar or not much higher price point. When I bought my C4/C6 etc it was around 2009 and prices for the basic models was around £150-£250, some with eta 2824/Sw200 ...the bang for the buck was immense then. When my b-i-Law bought his C60 a couple of years ago it was nearly £150 cheaper. I'm not sure where they are going tbh?.... they initially worked hard and marketed themselves as the whole 'luxury swiss at normal prices' malarkey, and that was actually a hit, but I've since read a couple of things on the net where over the next few years they want to 'move upmarket, and compete head on with the luxury brands etc. Not sure this is the best idea considering they have no history/(or even invented history) and their whole modus was based on affordability. They may do well who knows, but they they seriously need a change up to the designs if they want to move away from the sub £500 segment. Moving up the ladder is not always the best way to establish the brand, sometimes it's better to come right out the gate and do a Bremont or a Kobold and put a large price tag on everything. Get them while they are hot Also keep an eye out for their sales, some watches go for 30%-40% less around 28 december. Apparently their is a bit of a kick up about this as the higher price buyers are not happy at massive markdowns for fun.
  8. Good catch on the missing LM bamcky, eyes like a hawk never noticed it here, I really thought they wouldn't be bothered getting rid of if, but seems like they sorted it.
  9. Great post sgt, nice to have an updated list. The newer IWC portofino and the Patek Aquanaut V2 could be possibly considered also, neither perfect, but as good as some in the list?
  10. I've had a few also, a pvd C4, steel C4 and kingfisher C6, my brother in law wears a C60 as his one and only do everything watch. Build quality, features and attention to detail is really great for the price. The designs are a bit of a mishmash of everything though, it's like they don't know what brand to homage next so they throw design aspects of everything into some watches. I'd like to see them do some more of their own designs. No doubt on the quality though, they punch well their weight for the price.
  11. Yep gen all day and then some, nothing at all rep on that one. Congrats, nice watch, in great shape aswell.
  12. Looks great, one of the better ones I've seen in a while...nice pearl! Go for it! Don't worry about that stuff guys, we welcome QC here!
  13. Yep they didn't really nail the CF pattern, it'll be interesting to see the finished product, they say it will be better looking CF effect on final effort ...Looking forward to the reviews. Also, my mistake the orange model is ceramic and not dlc, looks great. No rep unfortunately!
  14. If it's anything like the kuvarsit prototype then it will be sold out for months. Looks damn good, would've preferred the orange dlc model to the yellow but open case unfortunately.
  15. Looks good, Jebus Rolex and their AR'd cyclops. I once heard that Rolex have a policy of never putting AR on any full crystal as they want maximum shine and gloss and reflections for sale purposes. They want to blind people. Have the forgotten about telling the time then.
  16. The last time I visited NY I've stayed in self catering apartments on the Upper West Side. 81st and Columbus. Pretty much a minute from the Natural History Museum. The apartment was great, much more roomy and more comfortable than a hotel, Nice big living room, Kitchen and double bedroom all for around $100 a night. But other studios are available also. The area was lovely with great eateries, supermarkets and bars near by, subways 2 mins away. The apartments are known as Jack and Judys B&B but not so much a B&B as a 'do it yourself'. Trouble is they've become very popular over the past couple of years on tripadvisor and now demand and prices aren't so cheap afaik. Check tripadvisor for self catering apts lets in the residential areas and its a much nicer experience than many hotels.
  17. From the geek thread and via Angus. The watchhead is finished and final. Example pics should be released soon. Working on the bracelet, waiting for a sample/proto of the bracelet. They are also planning to release the vintage leather and buckle option but they don't have that yet for replication purposes. No real eta but estimates from Angus are around a month/6 weeks.
  18. Jesus sorry to hear that Rolexman, truly awful timing that this happens just now. Keep the chin up even though you probably felt like pulling your hair out after that news. Things have a way of working out.
  19. Best to have a look at this thread: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/145219-skyfall-bond-watch One is due out in the next few months (fingers crossed) but be prepared to wait until xmas for it ... the current iterations are truly awful, if you can get your hand on the old style it is a better rep.
  20. Beautiful seraphe, thanks for the pics. The new 45mm AR must be from a different coating supplier than 42mm etc...hence the blue. The Ti looks outstanding. The dial really pops now. These are hard to photograph anyway, lots of reflections from the glossy dials anyway. Great job!
  21. I'd hope so, but you know how things are, dealers could hand out anything yet so check QC pics carefully is the only way to be sure. I'd say it'll filter down to all versions in time anyway.
  22. Some updated pics also from Yannou over on RWI, think this confirms the 45mms are double AR'd now.
  23. Just an update on the 45mm AR, looks as if in some models (blue Ti and orange numbered so far) that they are starting to be released with double AR. Not certain on this and buyers would need to check on QC, but some have already confirmed it has better AR. It certainly looks bluer on the outer coat than the original releases (which had no outer coat). First release on left: Vs: Newest release Thanks to ekovalsky for the pics. Anyone else confirm??
