tbh, go for it @ $1500 ovno and take it off his hands, as you say, instant profit, I know we all like a bargain but in this case maybe better to keep him happy, The longer it goes on the less likely you get the deal...just hope the delay doesn't have him go searching google and ebay to get an estimate of value. He could be coming back Monday firm @ $2K+. Anyway best of luck, hope you get it, what watch are you looking for btw?

Definite improvements to the dial, the hands look much better than the washed out old version, also the 2nd hand looks good, as does the DW and surprisingly the AR has a nice IWC like blue hue. Could be a winner here. How does the case look, any side shots of brushed vs polished parts?
-
Absolutely, $1200 is a great price, too good to be true almost, you'd barely build a franken for that. If he is offering it to you at that price take his arm off
-
That's the 45mm PO or PO XL, yep it is a big watch. Prices have creeped up a little on these 2nd hand over the past year, as they are now discontinued. In the UK at the moment prices on 2nd hand models like this are around £1500 to £1700+ depending on condition. Without box and papers will take a little off the price but not too much. Can't see why it wouldn't sell for around £1500-£1600 or equivalent. It also has a bracelet, which is a bonus.

Hey vandal, long time no see, hows things? I heard they were out of stock recently also, thread about it on rwi. Surprised with that tbh, hard to tell if it's a temporary thing or production has ended. I'll update if I hear more. Maybe fire Toro or Trevor or puretime (Angus)a PM and see if they have access to any. http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/upo-sold-out-125097.html

Looks great dg2, excellent work!

Looks great on that strap GB. Edge, do you ever think how much of an influence you've had on rep AP diver sales amazing stuff you've posted, between fantastic pictorials from all locations, head to heads vs gen etc, it's impossible to get away from this diver. You should receive commission from the rep industry

Hey ZK, great stuff, all the best for baby and Mom, and you ....Christmas baby, happy Xmas to ye all!
-
Yep db2, it looks cool as fcuk, been noticing that all too often lately. And I don't have one, it's the one strap format I'm missing I will have to aquire one soon, looks bloody superb so I have to try it!
-
At the moment I'd recommend Toro as an alternative to Josh/Andrew, all good, but Toro does trans ship also and not sure off hand but it may work out cheaper.
-
That is a cool chart. Monkey, flings poop at woman, flings poop at man, rips up the sponge, drives the aliens mad. What a nasty little fcuker.

Hi Ade, how's things, hope all is good. Still trying to figure out how to narrow down to an optimum number of watches here, then I find a way to add 5 more, so that is working out well Happy Holidays!

[censored] I missed it, is it over? ...time to get out the Laphroaig then!

No problem, yes, more often than not the movement will work away quite happily for years before it starts causing issue, if at all. I know the condition of these isn't the best out of the factory but they can still perform just fine without intervention for a long time. If you have a local watchmaker he may charge anything from 50 to 100 euro for service if something goes wrong, swaping out the movement is often easier. If the watch had a complicated chrono movement like an AP roo seconds @ 12 then a service immediately is a good option, but with the basic 3 handers it is not vital to do it that quickly. A replacement movement could be the swiss kind i.e. eta 2824, or a seagull clone movement or a sellita, they can be found easily on ebay or parts sections of the forums, or from materials suppliers such as ofrei in the US or cousinsuk in the UK. There are modders on the forums, I don't know any from Belgium offhand but Domi and Uwe in Germany and Wiz in France, the usual method is to post out and wait a few weeks for service. Tbh a movement swap is an easy job, any local watchmaker could do it cheaply and have it back to you within the hour. Here is an example of a direct swap seagull clone: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ETA-2824-2-AND-SELLITA-SW200-CLONE-MOVEMENT-SEAGULL-ST2130-100-EXACT-SAME-SPECS-/121038618528?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c2e76bfa0

I would just get the watch and use it before any service, just let it run and use it, if it is keeping good time and everything working well then no need to service it, use it until it causes issues. Honestly I have no issues with my a2824, never had an issue. Maybe I'm just lucky with them. Think about service later if the watch is a keeper etc. You may even be modding it soon enough if it is a keeper You can buy a whole movement to replace it for around $80 (Seagull st2130) if it causes problems later so wouldnt worry too much. Keep an eye on the crown/tube screwdown with the PO's, they can cause bigger issues being honest, but that can be fixed with a gen crown/tube at a cheap price if it does. Enjoy the watch!

Looks great, the better ones are filtering through again, I think it's coming near time for me to pounce on one of these
-
Just unscrew the screw on each end, use a pin pusher or pin end of springbar tool or some long piece of metal about 1mm dia and push out the bar inside the screw, should pop out and link opens. Is he overthinking it...if screw is out 95% of the work is done

Welcome back gtanak, nice selection, you wen't a bit mad on the ebel pandas ...can see why, they were a great offer. Hopefully more sweet new releases to add to the collection after xmas.

Omega Seamaster Professional (SMP) 300 bezel inlay color
cougar1 replied to dutchguy2's topic in The Omega Area
Afaik the old smps, i.e. the painted marker versions had a slightly darker blue insert than the newer ones, the raised marker smps had a different blue tint. Go with the darker one for the older smp. But at the end of the day the old gens will be faded a bit now anyway ...btw were did you get that smp rep? -
Brilliant stuff M, fantastic watch and great work, the price on these I sincerely doubt I'll ever get hold of one. It's great to see the attention to detail that went into this, it certainly looks very close to a well kept gen. Congrats on putting together this grail piece.
-
Definitely gen with misaligned bezel insert (wouldn't be the first time omega or an AD have done that during assembly or service!) ...everything else, dial markers/logos/hands/dw/crown/crownguards/He are 100% gen. Unfortunately no smp rep has these features that precise...except for a franken old closed factory case build...and those are extremely rare.
-
Cheeky yep, they are all the same tbh, but that PP takes the cake, it is as close as they come to a criminal enterprise, holding all incoming payments for 21days to earn interest....err I mean to 'protect the buyer'. The mafia had more honest businesses. I signed up to moneybookers years ago also, never used them though.

Have a few good single malts maxman, the whole site will make perfect sense after that!
