redwatch
I always love the "I inherited from uncle" stories. It sure looks legit, but when sellers say that, I just have to think...hmmmmm
CaptainJack
Was I seeing it wrong or does this thing have a stretched band??? I'm looking at the first link next to the case.
Cats
I can't stop thinking of the possibility that it's to good to be true. Scary if you didn't see the watch in real life ( and then i'm still not able to determine if it's real ) Any suggestions on the hight of the winning bid ?? Carpe Diem Cats If you were serious about wanting/buying this watch, surely you would spend the $500 max to fly to see it before hand (assuming you're in the US)? That's not much compared to the sale price.
alligoat
Yep, probably a stretch rivet bracelet which has seen better days. Don't know if they can be repaired or you just pony up for a better condition vintage bracelet.
KB
Gotta love this answer.... Photos will be posted shortly Jeweler verified watch is original shape but rough condition numerous scratches and band needs service. Then tried to buy the watch. If it's gen I suppose any jeweler would put in an offer. Ken
Nanuq
Yep, probably a stretch rivet bracelet which has seen better days. Don't know if they can be repaired or you just pony up for a better condition vintage bracelet. It's possible to take most of that stretch out with new center links. But the tiny bars that connect both side links also wear out. The 9315 on my SD was like that, in some places you could see the connector bars were almost worn through. So I bought a near-new 9315 on the 'Bay and put the original aside.
Mapman57
Its all rather cheap and tacky compared to this 6204 - please note the original retail price tag that is included on this one? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270674351911&ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT
freddy333
There is a pretty clear pattern there - if it is a Rolex, a sport model in very good condition & vintage, it will sell for alot of money.

Dizzy
Just imagine how many of these are tucked away in sock drawers or basement boxes and forgotten about. People having no idea they have $60,000 sitting in a junk box rotting away in the basement or storage shed. It will be interesting how this one plays out. Nanuq
I'm looking pretty hard at the dial thinking the hour indices are overly white when they should be more ivory colored. And the red text... I hope it's authentic but those are SO rare... what are the chances? There's a red text Snowflake for sale here right now. I could have that exact dial recreated by Kirk Rich for $300. A flight for inspection would be worth the expense for sure.

Nanuq
Yeah, I saw that too. And look at the non-ivory color of the indices on the top-right example. Is that a *gasp* four-line Red? Hooooooly smokes.

freddy333
Is that a *gasp* four-line Red? Hooooooly smokes. OCC 6536 Now I want a red (non-OCC) dial for my 6536. I remember seeing 1 on 1 of the aftermarket dial sellers' websites not too long ago, but I cannot remember which site (may have been NDT, which has some other red dials, but not a red Bond Sub dial). Unfortunately, the coronet was completely wrong, which is why I passed it by.
