ianGP
I finally bought my first pair of G&G's!! It is a model specifically made for the store >Bespoke England< - I guess a special edition of sorts. It's on MH71 lasts and I opted to have steel toe tips put it. I'm really hard on the heels and tips of my dress shoes. I was going to have brass nails put it instead but the steel tips look amazing and super sturdy! I'll save the nails for when I buy their dressier, more formal shoes so it doesn't click-clack around the floor. The size is 5.5UK E-width - I'm normally a US 7D and this is SNUG! Length-wise it is perfect but the width fits more like a C. It's also abit tight across the top of my foot but it's new and it'll stretch out to conform to my foot after a few wears. On to the pics! ianGP
Thanks for the compliment guys! I've just broken it in recently and it feels like a glove!! The first hour or so felt like there's no circulation going around my foot and my toes went numb lol but after that, the leather just fully conformed to my foot and it just feels great! This is my first high-end shoe as I've had two 7yr old Johnston Murphy captoes for my daily beaters, a pair of Moreschi's and Bruno Magli's - I thought it was about time. The difference is night and day! It just feels of high quality (but not to knock my other shoes as they're also very well done) @mrboombasteke - I manage a financial institution @twotone - funny enough, I know about the 'back' part as I have a bad lower back from racing karts and formulas. I know of this value you speak of I was considering AE's but jumped into Johnston & Murphy's as I had corporate discount with the Jos.A.Banks store - I would rate AE very high in quality as well
ebzen02
OMG. The leather on these must make you [censored] every time you touch them.eh? Most I have ever spent on a pair of shoes is $400-- Magnani's. But, I have had for about 5 years and are in great shape..just re-sole them and they are like new. donerix
Just beautiful. If I wouldn't live where all I wear are flip-flops I would get a pair too. I bet they just get nicer every year (I remember my Alden horse leather shoes were like that when I still lived in cold old Germany )

seriph
I buy shoes internationally a fair bit and believe you should have bought a UK size 6. That said, it is possible to stretch them without damage - you can buy shoe stretchers for around $30 (China - Cedar) and shoe stretching spray which DOES work. I have around 30 pairs with maybe 10 - 12 from the UK and Asia ... some are snug but I keep them on shoe trees when I'm not wearing them and they feel fine after a few minutes of minor discomfort - I guess both shoe and foot re-form themselves around the other. FWIW I think your double monks are stunning - the last (shape) looks great! I have 4 pairs of double monks myself and love wearing them a lot. My favourite shoes overall, are Jeffery-West . They are handmade and quite reasonably priced in my opinion. Even the soles are crafted to stand out!
