bones
I would have lowered the profile on the crystal but try as I might the bugger just would not separate from the case.

Nanuq
I'd just make two small changes. One, of course, is you buying my gen 6538 bezel from me. The other? Let's see who can spot it. It's not the crown.
FxrAndy
the metal part from the old pearl that is still in the insert?
Nanuq
the metal part from the old pearl that is still in the insert? No, if it was that, then the remaining metal "ring" would be overlapping the edges of the triangle. Those modern pearls are huge! What he's got here is a correct "look" for old inserts that used to be filled with lume "paste". It's something that will be, unfortunately, expensive to fix. freddy333
Beautiful watch, but, sadly, ditto on the dial & crown. Also, a superdome was never spec'd for the 653x Subs (should be a T17, which has a mild convex shape).

tmg
Nice job, but yes it looks like a T39 on there. A T17 profile should look like this:
bones
Not that I want to disparage your comments. I love the minutia of details that this forum alone seems to harbour. But this build cost me only the ±$70 + labour. The hands and lume I'm very happy with. This below is the inspiration watch to a certain extent. And with it's cheapo siblings.
