red series 3 Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 http://www.watchwallpapers.com/hte.htm I saw this come up on rolexforums and thought it was cool but i expected their to be shock and horror. But it was all backslapping and congrats. All 8 pages of it. I guess they miss out on seeing cool builds over there. Here's the thread if you're interested https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=236497

Tonyyammine Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 I said that if a noob put that same link up he would have very different posts. I guess ill be getting bashed over there soon.bunch of hypocrites.
danielv2000 Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 This is all original Rolex parts and from what I've read, user Jockey can afford both the GMT and the Explorer. But I agree that if someone here put up a similar all OEM Franken, the earth would move!
alligoat Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 Jocke sure has all the nice tools! It wouldn't be too hard to build the 1655 with the 1675 bezel- might do that for a day on the way to my 1675 build.
woof* Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 He posted that pictorial over a year ago at VRF, I was surprised at the time that he didn't get more flack, and yes alligoat..he's got incredible tools!
freddy333 Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 He posted that pictorial over a year ago at VRF, I was surprised at the time that he didn't get more flack Ditto & he was kicked out of TZ a few years ago (not sure why). I suspect he is also a member of some rep forums.
Londonboy Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 I read that thread a while ago too, great pics, tools etc. Most people would have got crucified for doing that for sure.
chefcook Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 im pretty sure this reputable vrf seller and high end high price seller sold a franken comex here as well http://robertmaron.c...265&page=1 cgs, crown height, and caseback, no he valve. hmmm, wonder who bought it Robert Moron sold quite a few Daytonas with questionable dials in the past. I would not touch a watch from him with a ten ft pole.
Gw4k Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 I Saw that thread a few months back. I am a member there since I have/ had gens.... I thought he used an aftermarket dial and hands. I also mentioned that frankens like these are common in vintage and that I would avoid buying really expensive pieces because of the Frankenstein practice...
PhilFree Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 This is all original Rolex parts and from what I've read, user Jockey can afford both the GMT and the Explorer. But I agree that if someone here put up a similar all OEM Franken, the earth would move! I have to agree that Jocke can afford both. He has an amazing collection of watches. I remember he recently bought an A. Lange & Sohne. Quite the beautiful watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
eVojlib Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 He is a god in the rolex forum... Has one hell of a collection of watches, tools, books, vintage parts and pretty much anything watch related thats bad ass and all us puny mortals only loathe to have.
