Legend Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 The gen of this went for a ridiculously high price at an auction isn't it? I think it's very beautiful myself. If not for the sec@6 movement I would have bought it when it was released! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
archierocks Posted February 19, 2014 Author Report Posted February 19, 2014 I wonder if there will be anyone doing a super franky of it
Mike on a bike Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 Might be something wrong if you didn't like it ,different !
lhooq Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 It was disappointing, considering what Rolex could have done with the 50th Anniversary Daytona. Absent that burden of expectations, I think it's a looker.
samhouston Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 I think it's absolutely beautiful. Sent from SG Note-III using Tapatalk.
tomhorn Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 Yes, it's completely wrong. Unless you're a woman, that thing is fugly. Having said that, I have been told repeatedly that I have no sense of style, so perhaps you really should go buy one ...
samhouston Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 I sorta agree with ^tom . Daytona is such a masculine watch . I don't understand them going with this *tiffany blue* as my wife calls it Sent from SG Note-III using Tapatalk. 1
Nightwatch Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 It´s the cerachrome with ice blue dial platinum 50th anniversary at a ridiculous pricetag of usd 75.000 as a gen. Gives You about 12 used Daytonas:) Even if you´ve just made 7.5 Mio it´s still 1% of You fortune. No way to spend this on a new Rolex, even less to use it as a daily beater, no way to pull it off. It´s still beautiful:)
alt.watch.obsessive Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 When the TV ads were running last Summer I thought it was quite sharp.
krpster Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 I like it too. I have a DD with the same colour dial and I find it quite sharp. However, I am betting it is one of those watches that looks awesome in photos but just doesn't work when you put it on.
smithdj10 Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 I got a Thailand version. Looks stunning.
nikoteen Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 I have a version of this and it's stunning Sent from my i7000 using Tapatalk
panerai153 Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Sorry, I have to color coordinate, and that blue just doesn't match my eyes It is a nice looking watch, just isn't me. AFA the sec @ 6, is that configuration any more problematic than the AP sec @ 12 A7750 movement?
freddy333 Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Tiffany blue aside (I happen to like it), if you can: 1. reshape/correct the CGs, 2. live with the washed out colors & 3. have the lifestyle (& balls) to pull it off without it looking like a poseur, then, yes, absolutely. Here is the gen for reference
kbh Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Baby blue dial and baby poop bezel...........
samhouston Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Baby blue dial and baby poop bezel........... loll
fraggle42 Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 Must be a cheap rep, the minute totalizer is waaaayyyy off the 12 o'clock mark and the rest of the chrono hands are reset
Mike on a bike Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 Ran across this one LOL! look familiar.............
