Mendota Explorer Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Very sad news today. Robin Williams was found dead in his home. Such a great loss. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2014/08/11/robin-williams-dead-at-63-in-suspected-suicide-officials-say/
KB Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Sad indeed, such a wonderfully talented man. Ken
HaydenM Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Great, extraordinarily talented man. A great loss.
kernow Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Very sad, I grew up with Mork and Mindy. The world is a poorer place without his comic genius. RIP
danielv2000 Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 I cannot understand what drives someone to take his own life and I hope I never do. RIP - a true comic genius.
GenTLe Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 @Daniel: unfortunately the depression is a real illness that involves deep brain functionality modifications (it's nothing like "having a bad period" or "being sad"), and if not properly cured (and even in that case sometimes) it brings people to these results Rest In Peace Robin, you gave me a lot of emotions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSjxkbe_Vr4
Cats Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 The entertainment industry lost a great member. May he rest in peace. Carpe Diem Cats
Bomber22 Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Rest in peace Always seem like a happy guy but it wasnt so
Ezio Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Too bad not the way to go but sadly he did RIP
Pontiaddict Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Truly a loss, I too grew up on Mork & Mindy and everything Robin Williams did afterward... so maybe we can celebrate his success' as well as mourn the loss. Why not list a favorite performance along with your message? Fave: Dramatic roles, The World According to Garp and One Hour Photo (chilling performance).
krpster Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 A shame. His stand up act was tremendous. I used to listen to it over and over again and it still made me laugh.
fraggle42 Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 "Goooood Morning Vietnam!" I bet Robin Williams did that whole take of the opening radio broadcast in one go, brilliant and still completely cracks me up every time I listen to it. RIP man.
KB Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Just some quick interesting facts; When he did Mork and Mindy Robin Williams would ad lib to such an extent that producers gave up trying to keep him on script and just wrote parts that said 'Mork can go off here' When he did the voice of the Genie in Aladdin they had 16 hours of Ad lib to edit and it is the reason the movie could not be entered under the 'original screenplay' section at the Academy awards. Truly a comic genius. Ken
masmannan Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 Robin could have purchased any watch he wanted. He chose an IWC Pilot:
