Fantastic thread.
I recognize so many names.

Gosh been on here since 2006/2007.

I go in phases. This forum was part of so many ups & downs in my life.

Went to med school in 2010 @ age of 36 yo as 2nd career after being on Wall St for a while.
IM Residency 2014-2017.
Pulmonary/CC Fellowship 2018 - present - graduating in June 2021. ZOOM interviewing currently for a 1 year sub sub specialty - Match day Dec 2nd.

My 1 year additional training will take me to potentially to NYC or Chicago or Salt Lake City or San Francisco or stay in Los Angeles.

Last few months have been super busy in the ICU. Some really sick people. Needed an escape from it and logged back on to the forums.

I still probably have 30 reps and a few unfinished projects. In last few months added to the collection after being gone for last 2 years due to fellowship.

Still single. Debating how much of a priority it is for me to settle down.

Welcome back!  Funny how this place works, it's like that TV show Cheers.  It's always here, will always be here, and who knows who's hanging around the bar?

Woody!  Bring up another case of single malt!  Dylan is back!

Woody:  "oh hi, Mister Dylan, want a beer?"

Woody dammit I said single malt!

And so it goes...................  :drunk:

Yeah those are pretty scrawny wrists for an ex-bodybuilder eh?

Wait ... he's not logged on, is he?

You’re an ex-BB?!
Hahaha... me too.
Did you compete or just really streck by the iron bug?

No competing for me, my roommates in college played football so we were in the gym all the time.  One of them went on to star in a Hollywood movie, check out "Vision Quest", he plays the role of Shute, the antagonist wrestler from across town.  Frank Jasper is his name, he's BIG in that movie, but had to drop over 25 lbs of muscle before they filmed it so he'd look like a high school kid.  Yeah right, "high school kid".  These are the guys I worked out with.  We'd run the stairs clear around that stadium when we had extra energy to burn.   :Jumpy:

All I see is a bunch of lightweights......... I removed all pictures from my competing days. Dont want to compare myself to something unhealthy and destruktive. 110 kg shredded and dry. All those preps probably damaged my single kidney (didnt know that then). And thats what a few years later led to my acute renal failure. Its not like you go and do a CT of the abdomen symptomless just for fun.

First my lowest point at 74 kgs (hadnt touched a weight for 3 years, hadnt weighed that Since I was 13 yo). Body was back in internal shape.

All the above is without endrocrinolog enhancement. Just shows how once satellite-cells have dividend and created new functional units, without training sure.. atrophy is to be expected. Now I haven’t trained more than 5-6 times since the divorce in april.

74 to 87kg and down to about 83 kgs and Id say about 8% to 12% bodyfat and varying degrees of water retention. But phtsically feeling great. I started reeeeeally slow. E.g. 3 sets a 8-10 100 kgs deadlifts. By week 14 I think I was pulling about 155-160?

Just in the process of building a ”real” home gym in the basement with a full power cage with max 280kg on the straight bar and 60kgs on the dumbells so there is plenty of potential and Im really looking forward the coming 6 months. I need something constructive to focus on.

im really curious to see where I start ”plateuing” ..

Hi guys, good to see so many of the old timers here. Haven't bought a rep in years, have been off the forums for years. This place was always my favourite..

Still have some old reps from back in 2006-10.

Don't even know what's out there now and who the dealers are :D

Stay safe everyone!

Spooky is in da house!  Welcome back big guy!  Tell your wife, wouldn't it make her feel a lot better if you were to buy yourself a nice new watch?

It's been a long time since I've logged in on a regular basis.  I really enjoyed Tribals review and comparison of the new sub.

Thanks!

Hello everybody.

I'm still getting notifications and thus I'm visiting from time to time.
But I must say my life has changed totally since I got sober (5 years ago) and broke (2 years ago) !

The brotherhood of RWG helped me a lot 2 years ago when I couldn't even imagine having a simple job back.
You guys gave me a couple of watches and hundreds of euros that kept me alive till I found a job.

I'm back on track, a radio presenter job during nights and weekends, still sober, publishing a blog about my alcoholism.
I earn a very nice income, live in a nice flat and eat more than enough.
I don't have the financial power to buy reps (and certainly not gens), but I'm more into spiritual living than I was before, so all is fine.

Great to have news from you guys !

Keep safe,
Stephane

Glad to hear you’re doing better Stephane. Alcohol is a killer. Though I really have never had a problem with it, as I got older I really couldn’t stand the hangovers which always resulted in a very unproductive next day. Now I drink very rarely, which fits in with my new healthy lifestyle. I’ve lost about 25% of the body weight that I had 10 years ago and I feel great. Lifting weights every day and eating healthy has made me a different man.

Wow what a treat to see TJGR back again!!! C’mon now show us some pics of Ollie’s Sea Dweller. Holy smokes was it gorgeous. :notworthy:

Hey Nanuq ... why am I not surprised to see that you're still here.

It's amazing ... remember those Rolex GMTs that Josh had made up with the ETA 2893, mine still run perfectly.  I also got that Paneria with the ETA 2892 Sopras and it's still perfect.

To tell ya the truth, I have a lot of the old stuff that I cannot even identify.  I guess my poor old brain has gotten old!

Have they started to rep any of the watches with Tritium tubes?  I spend a lot of time on my boat overnight so I really like the ones like Luminox.

Great to see some of the old-timers still ticking....especially glad to see that Stephane's made it back to health.

Life throws many curveballs, but time seems to keep us marching on.

Hey guys, been a few years since I logged on here.

Good to see a few names I recognise, but I'm not a real 'old timer' like you lot :)

All my reps need servicing, and haven't been worn since the auto winder was packed away due to lack of room.

Keep safe!
