cornerstone
what car owns you? That sounds about right! We have a 'Folksvagen' - recently we had to replace a water pump because it wasn't broken. That's right, it was working perfectly. Apparently the fact that it hadn't broken was suspicious, since they always break. And when they do, you're stuck. What do you do? Sigh. This is a problem because we cancelled our roadside assistance, on account of them not knowing anything about fixing cars. An electrical sensor went once, leaving us stranded. A guy came out, crawled under the back of the car with a hammer and started hitting the bottom of the car. I'm outside saying "mate, the engine is the bit at the front." So after wasting a couple of hours he calls for a tow, which - thanks to the wonders of the mobile phone - we could easily have done ourselves. Despite all this - we love the car. But does it love us?!

rek001
2006 Scion xA (not the box, but the hatchback) in indigo blue. Perfect city car, I can "tuck" (park) it in places other cars can't. Super nimble, high seating position, nicely finished and appointed for the money, I paid $14,700 with side air bags.
cornerstone
A nippy car isn't just good for parking - good for gaps in traffic too! Nice looking car - we don't get the Scion marque in our part of the world - it's a Toyota, right? I think I've seen the box one in Tokyo (but as a Toyota). jkerouac
With gas prices as high as they are right now, doesn't it feel as if the car owns you rather than the other way around -- even if it's paid off??
