freddy333
Over the years, I have seen many new Daytona owners post some variation of the following on TZ (and the following is a full, unedited quote) I am a VERY new buyer of a SS Daytona (some 6 days old) and I am thinking...well, I got it, now what? Yes, its true I have been wanting one and have been on the AD List for 5 + years but...... The thrill is most certainly in the "hunt." I kinda miss my Sub. that I had to sell to pick up the SS Daytona. Both my best friends have one, it just kinda seem "blah" at the moment. What kind of idiot sits on one or more Daytona waiting lists (for years) & then pays $8,000-$12,000 (alot of ADs are selling SS Daytonas for several $k over MSRP) for a watch he or she obviously never wanted in the first place? And these are some of the same drooling baffoons who, just yesterday, called rep owners 'fools'!!! :bangin: :bangin: :bangin: :bangin: :bangin:

Corgi
I find many people on timezone have deep psychological issues. Many are compensating for something, especially on the Rolex forums. It's painfully similar to the Ferrari owners club. You get a lot of "mine is (newer/better/faster/more expensive) so THERE. But... I don't like it any way! I'm just that rich." alt.watch.obsessive
Hi Freddy, I was just reading your several month long Newman/DW/V72 saga and I think we're ALL a bit nuts. Someone should respond to the guy and say that the watch is a bit "small and feminine." That'll really set him off. Cheers.
freddy333
I was just reading your several month long Newman/DW/V72 saga and I think we're ALL a bit nuts. You have a point (to a degree). But there is a difference between going after something YOU want and going after something the herd tells you you ought to want (especially when you do not know what you want ). The former may be obsessive, but the latter is certifiable.
docblackrock
Oh I've come across this attitude MANY times It's essentially a combination of: - weak mind - lack of aesthetic bone in their miserable body - no individual thought/sheep mentality - 'keeping up with the Jones' ' - small genitals Otherwise summed up in a perfect all-encompassing word: T o s s e r ( I can't believe "[censored]" is censored!!!) eunomians
Ahhh, the Daytona. Can't live with them. Can't live without them. Which one is it? Never can make a decision. The debate rages on...

southcoast68
I'll say that if the member from Timezone is really not loving his new Daytona and misses his sub, I'll trade him my noob LV for his Daytona and put him out of his misery
