So you're saying they are going to build something on data they want from us? I thought the new way of building a replica was to buy a genuine one and copy it.

Anyways... it's simple... go to www.iwc.ch and this is what you find:

- Inner case: soft iron for protection against magnetic fields

- Glass: sapphire, convex, antireflective, resistant against pressure drop

- Crown: screwed

- Water-resistant: 6 bar (60 m)

- Case diameter: 39 mm

- Case height: 11.5 mm

- Weight:

- Pilot's Watch Mark XVI in stainless steel with crocodile leather strap: 68 g

- Pilot's Watch Mark XVI in stainless steel with stainless steel bracelet: 122 g

And two beautifull pictures

The genuine will probably run on a ETA 2892-2 that is improved by IWC. So if they replicate this one they could use a chinese copy of the 2892.

MARK XV was worn by Tom Cruise in Vanilla Sky:)))

Bad thing :p

and by Harrison Ford in Firewall :D

Great thing

I agree with Jarub, ooppss,,, soryy Jakub (Good job Yello  )

This watch should be reped.

Now, the problem with makers is that 95% of their business is probably made outside our forums.

And what are people looking at outside?

Not such a beauty, too classic, not noticable on the wrist as a "top" watch.

I would buy one right away if a rep was made.

@Jakub: I am not a specialist of IWC at all but I'm pretty sure some other member could give a lot of details about this watch.

As one said: let's make some noise.

I WANT ONE - I WANT ONE - I WANT ONE - I WANT ONE

Easiest option would be to make the case a few milimeters thicker.

I don't know if there is a reliable asian movement with a similar thickness to the eta 2892 A2?

Best option would be of course to put the gen item in, but very expensive and hard to source...

I would be happy with a casekit without movement. That means correct case, crystal, dial and hands for eta 2892.

I would take care of the 2892 A2 myself, then.

Problem I see is that the eta 2824 is too thick. The genuine Mark XVI uses an eta 2892 A2, that is why it is only 11,5mm thick.

The lugsize is 20mm.

Yea. I think if this project done at all, it should be done correctly with a 2892A2 as the engine. Or an alternative would be the Selita SW 300.

But if it can't be 1:1, I would say don't bother.
