Pugwash
They/we shouldnt be surfing web forum's on their/our employer's time and computers anyway...so the naughty pictures are just gravy if the employer is looking to fire someone We shouldn't buy counterfeit watches either, so I fail to see your point. Highflyingclive
Evil is in the eye of the beholder. If you are bothered by the naked human form, its your problem - don't even think of trying to impose your mores on me. Who do you think you are? Such neck-snapping arrogance is unforgivable. So there Frankly, whilst I have no problem whatever with erotic avatars, I do find some other avatars very disturbing... But I applaud their creativity. Yes, I'm talking to you Staticman Right. Enough forum-surfing for tonight. I'm off for a nice healthy bicycle ride...

chrono903
The avatar police are out there. I was asked to remove mine and did, without regret. It was one of those things that i saw and laughed so hard Ciroc shot out my nose. I thought it might do the same for others. I have to continuously remind myself that most people don't have the same type of humour i do. On another note, i really enjoy seeing pulchritudinous women in others avatars as well as my own. I don't have them there to try to prove anything. It's incorrect to think someone is going to see my avatar and think, "wow, that guy is cool!" Rather, it is there to meerly entertain. And as long as they exhibit no more than say, shape magazine does on their cover, i see no need at to remove them. And if you feel wrong about your kids seeing women in bikini's, try explaining why daddy is engaging the purchase of illegal goods. thom

manuel
I don´t think you are wrong. I think you are a polite guy and asked people about it instead of forbidding. I had the same inconvenient at my job, so I stopped reading these nice forums. I like girls too, but i think they should be more dressy.
Jaymoi
At then end of the day this is a community. The community as a whole should also excercise its responsibility to keeping this place decent. We shouldn't put un-needed stress on admin to start policing avatar resrtictions. Its hard enough running this whole thing as it during the summer holidays let alone adding this new request. Avatars are supposed to express you, your personality, your mood, your interests etc. I don't think its ok to have smut on here, as it kind of degrades the whole site and all its members somewhat. I propose this: If you have a problem with someones avatar voice your opinion in the form of a post. Then we, the community, as part of our responsibility to keep this place in harmony will cast our opinions on the offending avatr, if the majority like it then it stays, if the majority think its in bad taste then the moderators can get rid of the pic. Thats what i would do anyways. However there is one problem, what am i going to beat off to everynight if its not all the smutty avatars around here!? Noooooooooooo Jaymoi
Polynomial
I want to bring up the issue of the use of pornographic avatars on this forum. I was thinking, should there be some guideline as to what is appropriate and inappropriate for use as avatar? Excellent thinking. We need rules here! I propose rule 1. it is mandatory for all male members to use a pretty naked girl avatar at least 80% of the time, rule 2. it has to be a really hot babe , and rule 3. babes wearing cool watches are particularly good for avatars and should be used the remaining 20% of the time ...now for the average RWG member, the rule 3 implies hard core porn, enjoy

I really think that pornographic avatars degrade the membership, and paints pictures of us all being horny middle-aged guys who have to get their instant gratification off pictures instead of the "real thing". This is the worst way to attract single women if you are single, I'm telling you now.
Polynomial
....and rule 4. female members should use their own naked picture as avatar....OK, just kidding, any ladies out there, ignore this rule....but you can take it as recommendation Edited July 6, 2006 by Polynomial

Chronus
avatar of a completely naked woman inserting something into her vagina Whose avatar is this ? I don't get on here at work, some may call it illegal as well, and I would never get any work done if I did! At home, no one uses this computer except me. No one else has access to it, so I have no problems with avatars, although I was surprised by a few of the nude ones as I hadn't thought it would be allowed. And I don't think anyone is on this forum to find a girl....! That's what you do in the weekend with your iced out Rollie. Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee... dcrooz
...rule 5. really cool watches can look so nice they should be regarded as porn as well I'll 2nd that. The 18 carat solid gold FM some one was tryin to organise a group buy for is certainly pornographic - every time I see it my hand heads slowly south.... towards my trousers... searching.... for.... my wallet!!!!!! Noooooooooooo Jaymoi I like this And yes I'm another who side with the Thomasng camp on this one, however jraines hit it on the head for us Mods (1) There is no ruling to disallow these type of avatars and (2) It will be a bugger to police. To me the sexiest women still have some clothing on as it leaves that last little bit to the imagination, yet others will disagree. I have removed or asked members to remove avatars that do go to far and I'm sure this is the case with all the Admin team but this is and should be a case of community policing, if you find a particular avatar offensive report it and if we in Admin agree it's gone simple. My point quite simply is that having naughty pics from this forum in your cache should be the least of your concerns. If your employer is monitoring your computer activity and web cache from your surfing, then surely he/she/it would know that you are spending your work time surfing and posting on a web forum...regardless of whether the subject matter is reps or donkey poop, I imagine most employers would not be happy about how you/we are spending our time on their dollar... kasigi
In my case I work in the IT department, we're pretty much expected to be surfing the net when we've got spare time. It's not frowned upon at all. If all our work is up to date and there's nothing outstanding it's not a problem. Not all companies are paranoid about their employees using the internet. Similar for me too, I can surf the net if I want but I don't go to RWG there. I leave that time for all the sports, entertainment, banter via email etc.
V
Personally I had quite a big experience with forums in my life till now (yes I had other passions before PAMs) and in each particular forum I ALWAYS used an Avatar with a subject of the specific forum.
