I really think that pornographic avatars degrade the membership, and paints pictures of us all being horny middle-aged guys who have to get their instant gratification off pictures instead of the "real thing". That one is just classless. Tells me a lot about his view on women. It would be nice to see less nudity, but I don’t want to be the Mom or the prude of the group… I am here for the watches and am quite enjoying learing about and acquiring reps. Matter of fact, I like my reps as much as my gens! Some of the members DO consider this a dating forum…I have received a few PM’s from members with stupid pick-up lines or “how YOU doing”. ehtolcad Posted July 6, 2006 Report Share Posted July 6, 2006 to answer the original question, i'd say no, there need not be rules in place about avatars. let each choose his own and then let the chips fall where they may. if a person does not like it, they can either use adblock in firefox or turn the avatars off completely. this will allow that person to control his own destiny and not leave things in the hands of the moderating team! as far as the picture of the girl doing whatever to herself goes, it is currently on my adblocked list. so is that stupid 'look at the face thing' and all the craptacular gifs. if however, poopypants didn't have that picture of batboy jacking off as his avatar, i might not recognize his posts.... by the way, who in god's name is trying to pick up women on a replica watch forum where there are less than 5 (known) female members? that answer is no one. Removing avatars would "Offend" some while allowing certain avatars would "Offend" others. There is no part of the Site agreement that says you have the right to not be offended... If you have a problem with a specific Avatar, Sig, Post, etc.... use the "Report" button and tell us about it. We can't see everything... +12345 I am not big on the super porno avatars AT ALL! BUT, we tend to cater to small groups that offended easily at porn, guns, whatever and then make a big stink about it. So as much as I don't like the avatars and believe it should be ones own good taste that prevents one from putting a hardcore porn avatar up, it still doesn't mean I have to right to NOT be offended and jrains87 stated. The greasy wheel gets the grease and some on here are squeeky as hell. There wasn't a rule on NOT having graphic avatars so you can't be [censored] about it. This is for watches and watch chat. I log on from work and would like not to feel like I have to police my viewing here. Simple as that. Put the nakedness is a sub-forum for all I care. thomasng Posted July 7, 2006 Author Report Share Posted July 7, 2006 I would like to provide a reason for my general animosity against porn, etc. It just brings back really horrible memories from a few months ago when I was sitting on a jury in a murder trial. We were shown numerous exhibits seized from the computers of the accused, who dreamed raping women and then murdering them afterwards, and it was revealed in open court that they had over 50,000 pictures combined of pornographic material, and we were shown quite a few of these pictures. Unfortunately, their violent fantasy did come to life and cost a young mother her life, and almost her child's life. So whenever I think of porn-obsessed people, I unfortunately think of violent rapists who murder women now. I'm very sorry it came to this, but this is what happened.
