freddy333 Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 Many probably missed this thread when it was originally posted in September, but I think it bears repeating (and what follows is but a tiny sample) Click me for the motherlode
dluddy Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 Holy shit There is a lot of value in that pile of watches
deltatahoe Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 oh me oh my wow -- just wow deltatahoe
polexpete Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 oh lordy, imagine carrying a case of watches like that down the street.... scary! Thanks for sharing Freddy that's awesome... P.
freddy333 Posted December 4, 2008 Author Report Posted December 4, 2008 oh lordy, imagine carrying a case of watches like that down the street.... scary! Thanks for sharing Freddy that's awesome... Yes, but that case is just the tip of the iceberg.
FxrAndy Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 That is maybe half a mill in one case! Edit, i just looked at the photos in the post, that box is nothing, absolotly nothing Compared to what else is on show there! But it did bring back memories of the first GTG in Brussels, the only difference is that their watches are real but the feeling looks the same! Cant wait for january!
dieselpower Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 Great stuff. Very like minded people. Vintage pieces - simply the best.
bertieng Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 Somehow I still decline to build the COMEX. People simply query if I have that much money to spent. These watches are supposed to be kept in the bank's safe rather then wearing on the street.
FxrAndy Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 if you have got that many of them you can afford to wear one or two now and again
Stephane Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 My goodness, what a great GTG! A single red was in the party if I see well. I wish we were there to attend it . . . . But our GTG are great too...and we also have a single red
Bibbs Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 I saw this on another forum the other day : http://www.watchfinder.co.uk/Rolex/Comex-S...3477-watch.aspx Is that an average price for a Comex?
Toadtorrent Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 I saw this on another forum the other day : http://www.watchfinder.co.uk/Rolex/Comex-S...3477-watch.aspx Is that an average price for a Comex? They vary a bit...but that's around the mark. With complete documentation, they've gone more...without and depending on the year...they've gone less.
alligoat Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 WOW! Those guys are spending some serious money on their watches! Makes me realize that that is precisely why I like this place. I'd much rather build a franken for 1/10th of the cost of a gen. As it is, I've already spent way too much on watches! Next up though is a nice carrying case. No more going to GTG's with 3-4 watches stuffed in a sack.
vizsladog Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 Thx. Some serious cash was there in watches...
llsteve80 Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 Can't help but mention what a great setting it was too.
docblackrock Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 You know what I like most about those pics? The guy in the MN wetsuit larking about Nice to see a sense of fun amongst the typically stuffy anal-retentive obsessive completists that usually make up the vintage Rolex crowd.
