Seadweller4000 Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 The never ending search for the best replica divers’ watch continues. This is in my opinion one of the “HGRs”, holy grail replicas. It has been discontinued some time ago which makes it a rare bird among us collectors. After having tested the Steelfish and the [url=http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=67198]H
Pix Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 That's an other terrific review, thx for your time SD4K ! I am not really a Titanium fan, question of taste, but I admire the job that was done. The He valve matter shows that the rep manufacturers are sometimes simple **** !
Stephane Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 SD4K, what can we say if not THANKS. Another incredible test. This one almost made me want a Breitling
By-Tor Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Another remarkable review! Linkeed to the Breitling Guide, of course. Great job, these make such wonderful read.
dluddy Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Another teriffic test SD4K. THis one has never spoken to me but you just notched it up on my radar.
By-Tor Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 I guess this one is bit of a "love or hate" watch. I've never been a fan of Ti, either... but I know this is highly sought after rep among the fans. Very interesting to read about it.
k2222 Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 i will keep saying that You should be a writer! Thx for the great review mate.
Toadtorrent Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Great! You write a review of another watch like this...and I want to spend more money...and now I can't even spend it as the watch is not readily available. >sigh< Awesome review and pics, as always. You raise the bar continuously!!
Sir-Lancelot Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Your reviews are top notch. Thank you for taking the time to do these for us. I am sure that I am not alone when I say it is appreciated.
FxrAndy Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Ben you may be training for the wrong career! Excelent, detailed, and honest review, they just get better
Chronus Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 What a wonderful review! I have this watch as well, and it's a great one. Any tips on how the helium valve was fixed to stop leakage? And if you find the appropriate crystal, let me know, I'd be interested in that too.
chrgod Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Excellent review! I remember when these were available.. Regret that I did not buy one back then.
hyster Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Great review of an amazing rep. Thanks, enjoyed reading that.
andreww Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 Thanks for another excellent review SD4K. It's a real shame that the old school ti Avengers are no longer available. I'm sure they would sell quite a few of these almost perfect reps if they were to bring them back!
Seadweller4000 Posted May 10, 2008 Author Report Posted May 10, 2008 Thank you very much guys! Writing these tests is so much fun for a community like this! What a wonderful review! I have this watch as well, and it's a great one. Any tips on how the helium valve was fixed to stop leakage? And if you find the appropriate crystal, let me know, I'd be interested in that too. I think he sealed it with a very durable glue. Special watchmaker stuff, but I will ask back for you. Finding a fitting thick sapphire is really difficult as it has to fit in exact. Maybe I can source a little larger one and have it grinded smaller a little... Will keep you updated.
ta8088 Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 A fantastic review of the Seawolf. Yours looks great with the AR done. I'll need to send mine out one of these days to get it done. I won't ever part with either of my Seawolfs or Chrono Avengers. Ever.
dadog13 Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 this one is really a great rep...a sort of super rep before the age of these super reps we are seeing lately (priced at 500+$).. I remember when I got mine from a great forum member, and the price I paid was ONLY 200$... It is one of my favourite reps and I won't ever get rid of it...somebody said it looked like a hockey puck, and that is so true... thanks for the nice review! P.S. I'd love to source a gen yellow dial for this one!
ta8088 Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 I'd love to source a gen yellow dial for this one! That's exactly what I'm on the look out for dadog. Yellow gen dial and I'd put it on a gen diver strap.
mtb1979 Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 Funny how we have the same taste and the same watches. I bought a Chronomat Evo from you about a year ago. I've had my Seawolf Avenger for a few years, but it just doesn't get enough wrist time. I need to get rid of it! http://www.replica-watch.info/phpBB3/viewt...=14&t=40178
Seadweller4000 Posted May 25, 2008 Author Report Posted May 25, 2008 Just want to express I am in no way related to the sale mentioned above, nor was I informed that my test is used to sell a watch.
stockey Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Sweadweller4000,i am suprised you haven't bought or tested a Paul Picot le Plongeur, this rep is very well made and i am sure it would do good with your tests.
