if people here have issues or problems with dealers or other members, then it is your duty to inform the membership of those problems. There is no point just telling a moderator that you have an issue that you have tryed to solve and you are still not happy, we are not here to be intermedates and mediators on deals we are here to police the content of the forum, we help where we can but you have to bring problems out in the open. Then other people may also chip in with the issues that they have, if we find that a dealer is no longer trustworthy then they will loose their place here, negitive feedback also means that the dealer will loose sales and then loose money, it keeps them working to an acceptable standard that we all agree with. But if you dont tell then no one will know!3 points

hello all. i have gotten around to testing out my new 1680 case featuring my 1680 red dial with feet for ETA as an example this case fits a PROPER 26.5mm dial UNLIKE the MBK (no more pressure fits) it also has the shallower rehaut like the gen, and unlike the MBK it fits 2mm bars out of the box , unlike the MBK it has a high crown position (unlike the MBK) and fits a slow beat ETA 2846 movement (rolex cal movement untested at this time) say good bye to having the perfect franken except for that telling low crown position it features a less domed case back and a custom serial number, unlike the MBK and no more "polex" it fits 1:1 parts and is shown with a clarks T127 installed and my red 1680 dial with feet for eta (no more messing around with date/hour wheel alignment) production cases will come with out crown tube installed but drilled and counter sunk ready to accept gen or aftermarket tubes of your choice, if youd like a high quality aftermarket tube installed a nominal fee of $20 will get you one personally installed by me with all the gaskets greased and the use of loctite thread locker i also guarantee the tube wont be stripped with the use of proper tools this is designed to compete with the MBK offering, so the price will be the same but the value will be uncomparable. this is just a working prototype, but its what can be expected of the final product, there are no pre orders or sign ups at this time, there are none currently available to purchase thanks for looking1 point

I did the drop of epoxy with a touch of lume underneath and got the aged look in the pearl I wanted. It's very easy to do.1 point

The 1st rep I ever saw (& bought) that was powered by a 'real Swiss-made movement' (this was a big deal back in the mid-80s when all reps came with either quartz or cheap, unbranded Asian-made/designed mechanicals) had an ETA 2846 & it ran fine for 20 years without a service. It was 2nd watch I ever overhauled when I was learning watchmaking & it is still running well today. Of course, now that I know better, I know not to let a movement go without an overhaul that long, but the point is that any movement is only as good/reliable as its last overhaul. If done well, they will run well for many years. If done poorly or not at all, you are likely to experience problems from day-1.1 point

Umm only one of the greatest holidays ever invented. Our genius forefathers, RIP, decided to create a holiday where the women were to spend the entire day, sometimes more, slaving in the kitchen making a giant feast and the men were supposed to watch football all day, stuff their faces with food, and then pass out. It's become TRADITION. It's amazing. If you don't have a similar holiday in your country I highly recommend it.1 point

Aeromatic's franken 6538 is one of my favorite builds here on RWG. It inspired countless similar projects but was never equalled.1 point

Just get the MBW from Reg, i have only found gen swiss movements in MBWs in the past, as to its time keeping and service no one could say, as with any rep the serviceing and state of the movement is always unknown, if you like it then get it serviced1 point

Thanks, sir. Indeed... This one is definitely ahead of schedule. I was initially thinking Dec. but as it turns out, it's a few months early Certainly no complaining here! Thank you, Chi Prices for a genuine steel 570 tend to vary a little depending on factors like condition, dial variation, etc. But they all seem to be right between $35k and $75k. Here is a small sampling of some of the pieces that have hammered at the big auction houses: http://catalog.antiq...1&auctionid=256 http://catalog.antiq...0&auctionid=144 http://catalog.antiq...1&auctionid=137 http://catalog.antiq...14&auctionid=66 http://catalog.antiq...57&auctionid=55 http://www.christies...bjectID=5257590 Keep in mind that this also represents a large time frame/window in which prices may have increased/decreased due to a number of external influential factors (economic conditions etc). As for mine... No idea on what mine would be worth... To me, I just value on the sum of it's parts; one can't compare a build like this to a full pedigree genuine even though much of the build is comprised of genuine parts. However, this watch does represent a savings of $30k - $40k to me since I didn't have to pay that much to own one And I suppose there's also the effort involved in sourcing all the stuff to make it what it is. In that regard, it's priceless to me1 point

Pictures of the current project. The case was softened by me. Had to open up the lug holes a bit.1 point

When we discussed it I said that if you had a problem it would be the balance assembly. I had hoped that after cleaning and setting it would last a while. I'm sorry it did not. I have to wonder if PureTime would send you a balance assembly at no charge if asked.1 point

i am a proud owner of some gen. patek, rolex and audemars watches and have always marveled at the engineering, art and craftsmanship that goes into each watch. which brings me to my point: i have always viewed people who buy replicas differently, you could almost say i looked down on them: for they were plebeians trying to be or portray something they were not. by mistake i found this site and after reading some through some forums I've come to the realization that the people here are true horological aficionados...and i feel more at home here than with other owners of genuine watches. it is quite perplexing because most of the people i know who have a real audemars, rolex, patek or vacheron ect. but really aren't the least bit interested in the history of the company, let alone the how the thing works; they seem to be more interested in the status it brings them. that brings me to my next point, i was so impressed by the sheer knowledge of the people here. for example i never though in a million years a person who buys a fake rolex would know the difference between a rolex caliber 3185 vs 3186 let alone building a watch using replica and genuine parts. and that is just fascinating to me, so much so that today i have decided to buy a replica watch and become part of the replica community.1 point
