  3. Normally I don't post pics of my new straps, but this one deserves to be in the spotlight. It is a Swiss Ammo strap I ordered from Ted Su Straps. I ordered it last thursday and arrived today. Just took a quick shot with my el cheapo camera: For more awesome straps from Ted Su: http://tedsustraps.3dcartstores.com/

  8. Oh I'm sorry to hear that fellow Dutchy! I always enclose a fake invoice, that I repaired the watch. If it got stuck I'll send the fake invoice also to the buyer so he can print it and show it.. Hope you can work this out with the customs! I just got two packages from Mike on a Bike, both without trouble (one was triangle shipping via AJ, otherone straight from USA)

  11. The process of modifying the watch is very gratifying in itself. For most, a "Franken" is not about getting it to be more like gen and saving a little money in the process, it's about the journey. To create a franken you must gen parts that are often difficult to come by, sometimes you need to modify parts of the rep case to make the gen crown fit or that gen bracelet. You've got to figure out how to attach the gen dial to the A2836 movement because the dial feet are in the wrong spot. Like you mentioned, you need a steady hand, a little know-how, and a lot of determination. At the end of the day you have a watch that means more to you than any rep or even any gen, this new watch is now a part of you! I hope this helps.

  13. Well rolexuk. Imagine this: you swap your rep Rolex with a gen at the jeweler. He doesn't notice anything. A buyer then comes in. The buyer is a poor schmuck who has been saving up for his dream watch for years. He finally enters the dealer and buys your rep unknowingly. Congratulations, you just ripped off the dealer AND the buyer. And here's the kicker: this happened to me in reality a few weeks ago with a Sinn U1. I purchased a Sinn U1 of which I though it was genuine. The seller was trustworthy and verified. It turned out to be a rep. I was extremely sad and frustrated. It was not the sellers fault, he did right by me and returned my money. But if I knew the turd that inserted the rep into the regular circuit I would have ripped his head off. We rep wearing people are NOT thieves. I'm convinced that in most cases if we could we would buy the gen. So the gen brands are not losing money on us as we were never potential buyers to begin with. Even more so, with buying reps our love for the gen is growing so strong that we might become potential customers.

  14. NOPE. Bummer. I must be doing something wrong tho because the "Follow this topic" is checked. You guys in that area that gets ferocious mosquitoes ... I saw a TV show that was SCARY - even to me, from the Everglades. Our mosquitoes just eat you ... those damn things carry you off to eat later like a take out lunch! Bill

  15. Well Mike, he expresses the intention of returning and swapping his rep with a gen. But surely this is all fine.

  16. There's a difference between buying rep watches and actually stealing a 2900£ watch. I'm amazed that everyone is so okay with this. I'm not. If he has no problem stealing watches in a physical store, he's not going to have a problem ripping you guys off.

  18. Thanks for your information. I definitely will martijnp. Will take 2-3 weeks from now on since I have to get it via UK to Europe. On the QC pictures it looked like there are some small dust particles on the dial under the crystal but the dealer assured me it is on the crystal and not under it. So are your two v6 without any dust on the dial? Will upload some pictures as soon as I get it

  19. Mine came in today too and I have to say it is the best out of the box rep I have seen. I am happy to wear it as is but that's not goi g to stop me from doing a few mods... AR, lume, gen strap, gen ETA, maybe some others but I will play with it for a while to see. I can't say enough about it definitely worth the wait.
