  1. My Vintage Rolex Collection The time has come to finally show you all my vintage Rolex collection. I love every one of them and still wondering about what should come next. Suggestions? Thanks for watching! - Sub007 Nr. 1: Rolex 16014 Franken Datejust (built by StoneP) Parts: Gen 16014 Case, Gen Tube, Gen Stem& 600 Crown, Gen Caseback, Gen Bezel, Gen Linen Dial, DWO (rep), Clark 25-135 xtal, 2834 movement, Rep Jubilee and ends (Riyi), Gen spec 2.0 mm springbars I´m a sucker for vintage rolex and the Datejust seemed such an elegant and very wearable watch, especially when wearing suits and cuffed shirts. Sourced this watch with StoneP who is just great guy with too many Rolex parts LOL. So when he wanted to get rid of some parts I pulled the trigger. But then the franken bug bit me and I wanted more, more and more...so while I intended to `just` buy GEN dial I ended up buying fully built Franken. But the result is just breathtaking, linen dial is something you have to see in real life and this is a 6 million gen case in pristine condition. Engine turned, I love it and at 36mm it feels so nice on the wrist. Found a very nice rep jubilee on the bay from Riyi002 (what a gentleman) and fitted some gen spec springs to it. Nr. 2: Rolex GMT 16700 (TW Maker with GEN Insert) So I just love this watch because it really adds colour to the black and white of Rolex Sports watches. The rep insert was really bad so I changed it for this GEN insert (required a new bezel as well). And now it looks and feels like GEN to me. Got this particular watch from Marvellous Replica (not sure if he´s TD here) but he is one of my favourite TD´s. This for sure is a keeper!!! Nr. 3: Rolex 5513 Franken Submariner Parts: Cartel 5513 case (Modded to a 1984 5513 by Rolojack), Helenarou Caseback, NOS Swiss ETA 2846, GEN ROLEX 5513 Spider Dial, GEN TUDOR Mercedes Hands, GEN ROLEX 5513 Insert, GEN ROLEX T-19, Aftermarket Bezel Assembly, Athaya 702 tube & crown, Yuki Bracelet and clasp, WSO 580 ends, Gen spec spring bars This was the one that got me all started with vintage Rolex in the first place. It has been discussed by my elaborately on this forum. And thanks to the great craftmanship of Rolojack and assembly and watchmaking skills of DR3M3L (Mod at RWI) this baby is now finished. Love the clean look of it and the gen spider dial is really making this a one of kind 5513. Nr. 4: Rolex 16600 Seadweller Parts: Stock BP SD with TC Dial, TC hands, TC insert, TC bracelet & clasp, GEN 704 Crown, Swiss ETA movement This baby originally comes from @OCCB2 who is by far one the greatest guys I ever met on the forums. True gentleman and went out on a limb to get this baby safe from CONUS to EU. It originally came with TC crown but fitted one of my 704 crowns as the TC kept slipping. And now it is a nice and steady beater with great lume, has date but no cyclops (so no issues LOL) and TC parts surely make this one badass rep that could certainly meet up with GEN.

  2. What exactly is this counter with the community reputation in the profile. I have 18 points which counts as good. But how do I earn them?

  3. Morning Guys I wanted to open the discussion on etiquette on packaging and shipping from fellow members in M2M sales and get your views please? A few weeks ago I purchased a Patek from an RWI member and as always paid immediately and provided my shipping details and received tracking details. The package was acknowledged via tracking that it landed at Heathrow airport on the 1st August and I thoght no more. On Friday the 14th August I chased the Royal Mail and asked where it was and yesterday it arrived in an outer clear envelope with 'Our sIncerest Apologies' written on it as it had been split and was totally empty apart from a small amount of tissue which was apparently used to wrap the $200 watch in. I contacted the seller and informed him thinking that there would be no way that anyone would send a complete watch Internationally (Or anywhere for that matter) wrapped in a toilet tissue and put in a regular envelope to which the answer, along with two photos came back of exactly the said regular envelope and confirmation that he had sent numerous such packages without issue and couldnt b eheld responsible for theft. Now, I am very street wise and very experienced sending and receiveing watches and can only say that although I believe the watch was sent, the sender was completely crazy to send any watch or part (strap maybe ok) in a regular envelpe and think thats ok or am I wrong? The final question is do we now need to ask any M2M seller how they are going to package/send a watch/parts in future, yes I am a tad pissed with this guy for thinking what he has done is ok without recourse, for me Im down $300 which is no biggy, however in the literally hundreds of watches Ive sent and received this has never happenned before which I put down to being packaged properly. Id welcome your views. Regards Andy

  4. Here is my 6265 built. We all know the pros and cons of this DW daytos, but leaving aside the few flaws, I like to focus on the strong points.

  5. Well, I could achieve a very futile dream : have all three major bodies evolution of the basic sub. Square CG, Pointed CG and round CG. So similar, yet so different !

  6. Ever since one of the guys on the board posted pictures of Rolex 6204 model, I really wanted to put one together. I think only a couple of guys have managed to find the right hands or made customs hands to fit the watch. Anyway, I assembled some left over parts and Silix case to put this one together. What do you guys think? I like it but really want to focus on getting my Tudor 7016 into good shape so may end up selling this. 9. Congratulation on your collection ! The nice genuine boxes definitely bring these nice pieces to a higher level. You are just starting... When you are on that slope, a few years later you'll pass the 20 watches milestone with a smile !!!

  10. Very nice job on a rare piece. Here's mine, waiting for some magic fairy dust before it's complete.

  11. Crap I put a leather strap/s in a box, as AJ can tell you. I am tempted to contact heads of all the boards to incorporate this into all our sales rules. Something like" If you ship a watch it must be in a box : Styrofoam or cardboard (no soft envelopes gents) or YOU are responsible for lose or breakage." By the way love those little styrofoam ones I get from China, .

  12. Wow, that is unbelievable. Sorry to say but a member sending whatever in a regular envelop wrapped in toilet paper, really? And admitting it ?! In my books, he owes you the 200$. Wrapping the item in bubble plastic, then into a carton protection and finally in a bubbled envelop is the minimum. When it comes to a watch, I would wrap it like described here above and add tape all over the envelop edges just to make sure the alleged indestructible envelop doesn't fail the journey. Simple advice to the sellers here: if you do not have the proper wrapping material handy, delay the sending and buy some. Your buyer will prefer to get it's purchase intact 24 hours later rather than nothing at all. Cheers Stephane
